My cap is fading badly and in several spots has turned white. Still under warranty (getting real close though), and contacted dealer to get the process started. The service desk at the dealer did not sound surprised. We will see how well Jayco handles it.

To make it "OFFICAL", take a few pictures of your fading issue and send them to service@jayco.com. Make sure that you include you VIN number with the pictures. This way you are on record with JAYCO.

Got 'er back today

It looks great. The local body shop is such a perfectionist that it took several days longer. They called me at one time and said they weren't happy with some area on it and wanted to run it back into the paint shop. Then the decal guy called to run some things past me. The little swoosh ends dudn't have the multi colors like the originals and the main part of the side decals. He offered to remove those details on the sides to make it all match. Couldn't be happier. The work cost Jayco $2200.
We can't say enough good about Jayco or our dealership here.

Kind of feels like getting a new rig.
Had local sign shop put on a custom decal. An artist friend sketched this out. Emailed image to shop, took rv in, about 20 minutes to apply, and $190.
We're still in shock that Jayco covered the repainting.

What an idea! Looks like new and now unique to you. Live and learn, sure took RV industry a while to get OFF the dark front kick, 2017 Eagle is now correct.

Fading Paint

I have a 2013 Jayco 36REQS and the paint on the front cap, door side and the rear were chalking bad. After reading all the posts on the fading paint I contacted Jayco on the issue. They stepped up to the plate and painted the front cap, rear and door side. I picked her up on Friday and looks like a brand new trailer. I'm a happy camper.

Mine was also fading at the top and Jayco approved a complete front cap repaint. I like the brown but often wonder if white is a better way to go.

When JAYCO redid the front cap on our EAGLE, I opted to have it done the same color as our sides. The dealer did a digital color analysis of the side color and mixed the cap paint to match it.

So, the old dark brown color temperature in the sun exceeded 200 degrees and after it was redone with the lighter color the max temperature of the cap never exceeded 119 degrees. It is sooooooooo much cooler in the front cabinets and the front bedroom.

Go with the light color.

JAYCO said they would not extend the warranty on the new color as it was not an original color, I had 2 months left to my exterior warranty so I said ok..... BUT the dealer that painted it has a 5 year warranty on their paint job. Win... Win call for me

Make sure you inform the shop that the decals on the side of the front cap are not part of the front cap decal package and they need to have JAYCO send out the complete decal package. That is the way they do it.... must have cost them a pretty penny to send out the complete decal package for a few SMALL decals.

Picture is in My Registry.

The Precept motorhomes have a full color paint option for over $12,000 and what do you get. An RV too hot to live in in Florida.

I've been approved to have mine repainted. I emailed Jayco and coordinated through my dealer.

I'm curious...what is the purchase date for your eagle? I also have a 2013 and they denied it.

I have a faded front cap and it's totally out of warranty so I have gotten two bids for repair, $1,400+- and $2,100 to repaint the cap and put on some clear coat. Are these prices fairly close to those of yours who have had to pay for the job? The lower one is close by, waiting for one from here in town, and the higher one is 150 miles away. Even $1,400+- seems like a lot for just the cap, but I have never had to have this done so am totally unaware of what the costs should be.

Ours was covered by warranty at a local shop. I was able to see the bill and it was $2,200

I have a 2013 314 bds Eagle purchased in april of 2013, it had been kept under storage from day one. In Sept of 2016 the front cap began fading turning white half way down the cap. I contacted jayco on 02-13-17 and they advised they would not repair it. What more have you guys done to get Jayco to agree to repaint it Thanks

Well, I told them that I was ashamed to be seen with the trailer with the amount of fading on the cap. This was the third cap on the trailer, first cracked in the first year and was replaced by Jayco, second we hit something and cracked it and we paid to have it replaced in the fall of 2013, this third one just faded something terribly but by the time I brought it to their attention, it was beyond the two year warranty period, and the fact that it was new less than 2 1/2 years ago didn't seem to sway them. Apparently caps are a little bit too expensive to do any type of accommodation with us. I do believe that some folks have had some luck with out-of-warranty cap work, but not us.

Not sure as to what they are going to do for the painting of the cap, but I was informed by the body shop that the GEL coat needs to be sanded down to the fiberglass or the oxidation will eventually bleed through the new paint.

We had ours repainted in 2014 and it is still perfect. The dealer's service center has a 5 year warranty on their paint job also... it was a win win situation.
