Full Cover?

The North Point I bought recently came with a full cover, which I thought was great. However, a campground owner advised me against using it - he said he has seen some bad damage caused by them, and also said that he thinks there are really hard on the finish of the trailer if the wind moves the cover. Any opinions on that? I was looking forward to using the cover for sun protection.

A friend had a full cover on his, one of the tie downs came loose in the wind and it took off a spot of paint about 6 inches round from rubbing

I used a cover for one season on my old TT. That was enough. Caused more surface problems then they're are worth. A real PTA. Major waste of money. I know the campground owner is correct. Save you money.

Not a fan of RV covers. Long ago I had one and it buffeted the paint job and broke off a downspout, then ultimately tore in 2 seasons. Since then, I go topless. I figure, they sit at the dealer uncovered soooo...

Besides, newer coaches should be able to handle the elements. Especially Jaycos. I'd be a little apprehensive if I was told it "needed" to be covered. That's like saying, "You should really cover your car from the elements."

Well, here we go again. I guess I'm the Unicorn in this thread. I have always advocated for a cover on my 5th wheel. I use ADCO covers. They have a rather comprehensive site to choose which cover meets your needs. They also have support covers for your rain gutter spouts. I, knock on wood, have never had an issues in 9 years of cover my 5th wheels. Again, I may be the Unicorn. Personal preference of course but wanted to debunk the idea that all are bad. Have a day of your choice. SKIDAWG
