Furnace blows fuse

Hello, as cooler nites are here in the north my furnace has decided to not work. After some blown fuses I have deduced that one of our road trips has done some damage to the fan unit in the furnace ( this fuse also cuts out fridge). Upon startup a metallic sound followed by a hum results in fuse being overloaded. Is this a job for the dealer (2.5 hrs. away), or can a handy guy tackle this job with the proper instructions? Looking for some solid .02$ on this subject before I deal with the Jayco techs (My next step). My TT is a 2011 Eagle
Suprerlite HT (27.5bhs). Thanks for all help.

I would first start by having a copy of the manual for the furnace as it should have a wiring and parts diagram in it. If you don't have a copy you should be able to download a copy by using the make and model number which should be located on the furnace. You may have to remove the cover to see that information

If as you say you are a handy guy - I would attempt to at least troubleshoot it yourself. I do everything in my power to avoid dealers / repair folks in all instances not just my RV but auto and home stuff as well.

Your issues clearly sounds mechanical, so you should be able to at least determine the cause of the noise. Post questions, preferably with pictures as you progress through troubleshooting and many here will guide you...

re: furnace

Hi Guys, My furnace is under fridge, no outside access. the fan is located on the outside wall,so I will have to pull unit into TT to get a good look at it. Before I take TT apart is there a simple solution or am in for a lot of duct removal and wire marking!(with a propane line thrown in for fun).

Make sure your propane tanks are turned off Then disconnect the line at the furnace

And when you reconnect the lane at the furnace and then turn the propane tanks back on. MAKE SURE you test the connection for any leaks by using a soapy water solution before turning on the furnace
Windex works also

You may need to purge the gas line before lighting the furnace
