Furnace not working in 2020 Pinnacle

I tried to turn on furnace the other day and it wouldn't fire up only blower would make noise. After checking with Dometic and rv repair places found that the sail switch was defective. I called dometic and they say this switch is on back order and no idea when available. I received the same response from Jayco parts. I find this very disgusting to say the least. I would like to use my fifth wheel trailer going home from the sunny south to Ohio in a month. Would anyone know where I could purchase a 33802 sail switch for my Dometic furnace. I have read many people are having the same issues.

I had a Mobile RV tec come to the house and repair mine. Got it approved from Jayco. Cost was $299.00 and Jayco sent me a check for that amount. He had the sail switch on his truck. Call your locale camp ground and ask for recomendations on Mobile Tecs in the area. Jayco will not recomend any body, so thats what I did. They will tell you that they don't pay for the service call, but be persistant and they will.

suggests to me that this device is pretty simple. It appears to be a light weight paddle that senses air flow in the furnace. Given the amount of construction debris I found in the ducts in my unit when I first purchased it, it is possible that the switch simply needs cleaning ( as shown in the video).
To me, it would be worth checking out - given the simplicity of the device, it doesn't seem like something I would expect to be defective from the factory.

If you mean Dometic #33082 sail switch kit, I received my replacement sail switch about 10 days ago from here:

....... and my furnace has been working fine since installing the replacement switch.

My original sail switch paddle and blower housing was free of dust and/or other debris. IMO there is an issue within the micro switch itself based on the intermittent nature of the problem, and that in most cases a 'tap' of the furnace housing (near switch) would re-initiate furnace ignition.

We had our furnace go out this last trip in 10 degree weather....woke up to a 40 degrees inside and that was running the generator and fireplace.

I diagnosed it myself and already had a spare sail switch and high limit switch based on the parts manual. The sail switch ended up being the old style and not the new 33082 that is hard to get. Mine ended up being the high limit switch working intermittently. I ordered one from www.rveparts.com just to have in the future and also another spare high limit switch, quick and easy to change out if it happens again.....it’s usually one or the other. This morning I received an email from them saying......

This is a mass email update for all of you whom have ordered the 33082 Sail Switch Kits. Please forgive any redundancy for those of you whom I have spoken to or emailed last week. We shipped out the last of the 33082 kits we had early last week. Dometic/Atwood has installed a new ERP computer system. It is a total failure and Dometic has no idea which warehouse has what part. I met with Tony from Dometic/Atwood yesterday (Monday). We called the warehouses and tried to get someone/anyone to physically go look at the bins to see if there where any kits in the warehouses. Nobody was willing/able to verify the stocking levels. It is Tony's and my opinion that these kits are actually in stock, but the new computer system does not know it. So we have placed an order for 100 kits and the order is being "hand walked" through the food chain. Tony has even volunteered to drive to Elkhart, IN. It is a 8 1/2 drive one way, so I told him that while I and our customers appreciate it, it doesn't make sense. Long story short. If anyone in the country is going to have these sail switch kits this week, it will be us. Please note that we are fulfilling orders in the order we received them. U said quick and easy change. U must be able to get to yours easily. On mine u got to pull the furnace and not easy to do.

Had to remove my TT furnace as well (from inside), mine didn't have an outside wall access panel which would have made for an easy sail switch R&R.

Well ok, on mine it is quick and easy with an outside cover. I will add that in Jaycos wisdom they SEALED the removable access cover that is full rubber gasketed to the base plate......

If u have a FW it is a big job. MY old TT was also inside but easy to get to. It is lame not being able to get to it from outside. I would much rather have an outside removal than the smooth look.
Anyone know if the 2016 Atwood heaters have bad sail switches? What is bad when heater goes TU ur tanks will freeze.

Our sail switch went out again, at this point it looks like it works for a maximum of 3 days of use and while we are still under warranty the drive to the dealership is 90 minutes one way. And, like everyone else the kits are on back order. We will be using a ceramic heater fro now. However my question is, what is Jayco doing about this major problem with the new sail switches? Just replacing an equally unreliable switch every 2-3 uses of the heater just doesn't make sense, and ours is one that you have to remove the heater to get to the 'easy to replace' switch.

I have the same issue on my brand new 2020 Jayco Eagle. The switch failed after two months. So far, RV life has been a pain. Thanks for conveying that info. If I find one, I'll let you know.

Would hope they’re all over Atwood to find an answer to infant mortality of these switches. We’ve replaced ours in the first 3 months of operation and haven’t had to touch it since. We see the same sail switch issue with any RV using Atwood furnaces.

If you open the return on the inside of camper you will find a reset switch. Hope that helps

I just had my Atwood/Dometic furnace go out the middle of January. Called Conibear RV just north of Lakeland and took it in 2 days later. They had me in and out in 2 hours and replaced one of the hookup hoses from the tank to the regulator. They replaced the original board with a Dinosaur Electronics RV board. It has a 3 year warranty on it.
Yes, I did call Jayco first and get authorization. Believe my check came in today at home.
It was model: FAN 50 Plus Pins. Conibear said it was a whole lot better and it is a lot more expensive. If I can go 3 or more years without replacing it I'll be happy.
Won't know what Jayco paid until I get home the first of April.

Same furnace/sail switch issue with our JayFlight TT. Dealer "fixed it" once. Went to use it this season and the same issue. Found an old-school trailer/RV service place near us. Was told the sail switch is a chronic issue. We took out the furnace - took it to the service place, they bench tested it. Ordering a sail switch. Will return it to us and install onsite. I love these people!

Sail switch seems to stick sometimes. Mine did this and Jayco tech told me hit the side of the furnace when it was trying to light. I did and it lit. Haven't stuck any more . Try this if you are in a pinch.
