Furrion 48" tv and soundbar options

We've discovered rather quickly that the sound quality on the stock 48" furrion tv in our 2017 Eagle 325bhqs is basically terrible. Has anyone here installed a soundbar with their tv? I don't see a lot of audio output options on this tv. I was looking for an optical out (most if not all soundbars support this) but alas there is none.

Has anyone paired a soundbar with theirs? What make and model and which audio output did you use?

Funny you should ask. I have spent the best part of 2 days hooking up a 37 inch RCA sound bar to the RCA tv in my rig. The actual hookup was a piece of cake but since my tv is on a carriage that lowers it behind the fireplace when not in use, it presented some challenges.

I installed the sound bar under the rear cabinets with 3 homemade L brackets that were bent to allow the bar to tilt down slightly. Then the audio cable and power were routed between the rear cabinets and the window valence. I brought them down one side of the side, thru a 3/4 inch hole and down to a power outlet and the wire mess behind the radio.

It has bluetooth also. It works well and is a big improvement over the tinny tv speakers. I'm still cleaning up and when done I'll post some pics or start a new thread.

I think the installation in the 325 should be pretty straight forward (above tv) so long as it's slim. The issue I'm facing is solely regarding the limited audio outputs from the Furrion 48" tv.

Before I had our Furrion 48" replaced in our 2017 Eagle, I had our Samsung HW-HM45C 2.1 soundbar hooked up using the ARC (audio return channel) HDMI port. If I remember correctly, it was HDMI 2 (middle port) that was ARC compatible. I would have preferred a optical audio hookup but the Furrion didn't have one. However, one BIG advantage of using the ARC connection is that the soundbar turned on/off along with the TV so only needed the TV remote to control everything.

I raised the TV mount up just an inch or two so the soundbar would sit below the bottom frame of the TV and on top of the fireplace and then plugged in the wireless sub behind our recliners.

Thanks blujay40! I was hoping one of the HDMIs would work that way. If I can find a sound bar slim enough I may mount it over the TV where there seems to be a few inches of space.

Welcome Sean. Just know that the HDMI ports on the TV didn't have an ARC label. The only way I found it out was in the manual for my model.

I replaced the hunk of junk TV with one from Costco and then also got a sound bar from them ... works 100%... I used museum putty to hold the sound bar down and it has not moved 1"

I totally agree with you on replacing the tv! Truly a junk tv, colour is terrible, refresh is very poor. I like a 120 refresh rate for sports viewing> Sound again is terrible. Spend some extra$ and research before you buy ! I am a big Samsung believer for Pictures quality, but sound can be a challenge with some tv's as well? Research before you buy!

I have a 2018 Eagle that has a Furrion sound bar but I can’t find how to turn it on. The manual isn’t helpful at all
