Furrion Observation Display Location

How did you mount your monitor/lcd display in truck.

The monitor stand for the LCD monitor has a suction cap that will not seem to attach to anything on the dash and mounting to the windshield glass is a difficult angle and won't attach at an angle that allows me to see anything.

I can't seem to find any replacement monitor stands for the Furrion.
What did you do so that you could position it for best driver view and stay attached properly??

Thanks,

I used one of the magnetic mounts they sell for phones. Works great and is very easy to dismount the monitor when we park.

I mount my Furrion display tight to the drivers "A" pillar just above the dash.

I agree that the OEM mount can be very finicky to get set up. Once I finally got it set to the right viewing angles, I leave the display attached to the mount when I release the suction cup from the windshield when we get home. It stays mounted to the windshield the entire time we are camping.

@thomasaburt, do you have a link to the magnetic mount you use? Sounds like the way to go.

I use the Scosche MAGDMB MagicMount Magnetic Dash Mount for Mobile Devices and have good luck with it. $14.99 on Amazon.

Mount not on the windshield

What I did was take a piece of Plexi 4'' x 8 '' plexi Glass 2 sided tape mount to dash easy to remove when not is use or just leave it your choice

I also found that the Furrion mount was rather poor (garbage). I went to Costco and bought the magnetic GPS/Phone mount and base (2-pack). What a difference and the only way to go.

Yes, it has a small, thin steel plate that adheres to the back of the monitor. Works well. If you don't want to mount anything to the dash, they also make a mount that slides into your CD player. I have used that before and that works well too. I mount the monitor on one and my phone/GPS on the other.

Thanks for the all insight. I picked up a magic mount window mount at Best Buy. Driven about 200 miles with it and has worked really well so far.

I did seen this on Amazon, I was wondering how far do it come out from the window, do it let you put the antenna all the way up or can you put it on the dash?

They mount includes a small "magic plate" that you stick on the back of the unit. It uses magnets to hold things in place. It's nice because when you park you can just pull the display off and stow it away.

Here the link to the site: http://www.scosche.com/mmwindow

I am not sure with that mount. The mount I purchased is the same brand but it has a long arm that you can manipulate into the desired position. I was able to put it right below the rear view mirror so it's easy to see.

this is the way I got away with not having monitors on the windshield and not having wires hanging

My magnetic mount came this afternoon! Had to play with my new toy, just finished getting it installed. Super easy, took all of a few minutes.

Cheers [emoji482]
