Gas Card

Okay guys, I not talking about the regular one I'm talking about the gas card that the trucker use. I travel on the highway and see that they post a little cheaper price.

I'm mainly asking this so I can use it to go through the trucker gas pump, I know that I can use my atm/ debit card but you have to go in and give them the amount you want to pump and then go out and pump your gas.

I would like to be able to drive up, put my card in and get my diesel and or some DEF fuel, is it possible or do I have to just go in and tell them about the amount I want?

I will use it so I can avoid the regular pump and just go through where the trucker go, I was just wondering.

I have a long trip coming up and I want to use the side where the trucker go through. Thank you guys for your comments.

I use this: https://www.tsdlogistics.com/services/fuel-program/

You have to set it up to de a direct withdraw from a bank a count. I set up a second bank account with my bank so my regular account is not attached to it.

Big1, one thing you need to remember is the "trucker" pumps put out anywhere from 4 to 6 times GPM than the little guy pumps. Even the DEF...........trust me, the first time I used the DEF pump it blew back and covered me in DEF!!!

Yes, but it's not that bad. My Ford has the 48 gallon tank. I go to the truck lanes all the time. In and out in under 5 minutes. Haven't had a DEF bath yet.

I still have a Pilot card that does save me 3 cents a gallon at the car pump. On long trips it adds up but it is not a credit or debit card, just a discount card and was free.

Okay, so can you use that card at any truck stop?

Big1, I use the TSD Logistics card program, the one that Fyrehuntr linked to. You can use it at Loves, TA, Petro, and several other "Trucker" type stations. I t can save you anywhere from a few cents per gallon to 50, 60, 70 cents per gallon ... advertised price. It won't save on DEF but the truckers DEF is only a couple bucks a gallon in the truck lanes.

It takes a couple weeks for the account to get setup and to receive the card.

only Pilot/Flying J. I also have one for Shell that runs 3 to 5 cents off based on use. Both no cost.

TSD logistics is a great program! We saved between 4 and 12 dollars when filling up 30 gallons a few times already in the one month we have had it. Super fast to fill up my tank in the truck lanes!

Big1, The truck pumps hose necks are typically larger than what most pickups are able to accept. I took the fill tube off the truck, opened it up with a dremmel and reinstalled it. The newer diesel pickups may have a larger opening...just an FYI

The TSD program works for more than Pilot/Flying J. As a matter of info., as of a few months ago, it does not give a discount at Pilot/Flying J. Seems as if Camping World had an exclusive contract with Pilot/Flying J for RV discount diesel fuel.

The newer diesel trucks have a larger diesel fill hole so, the truck pumps are not an issue. My 2019 Silverado accepts the truck pump fill. I'm not certain when the big 3 increased the size of the filler hole.

If I'm not mistaken, you can use a Good Sam membership club card for $.05 off at Pilot as well.

I look at it this way... Right now- our closest Pilot is 2.46/gal for cash. If you save 6cents that makes it 2.40 a gallon.

If I used my rewards card instead, the lowest rewards is 3% and best is 5%. If I take 3% off of 2.46 - that makes it a discount of 7.38 cents or 2.386 a gallon.
and for the 5% rewards makes it even lower at 2.337/gallon.

Now take it even further... down the street from the Pilot/Flying J, our closest Maverick has 9 Truck fuel bays and they are 2.359/gallon for diesel (credit). If I take the 3% rewards on my own card - that brings me down to $2.288 a gallon. Add on the Maverick 2cents a gallon discount they give with a maverick card - $2.268 a gallon

Who wants to pay $2.40 with a discount at Pilot/FJ instead of $2.26 a gallon anywhere else?

Good to know, the truck stops definitely make fueling up easier and IMO safer especially when towing. I hate pulling up to diesel pumps that also sell gas.
