Generator advice:

My in-laws just purchased a used 2015 Thor cruiser. This is their first time rv' ing and are just getting the hang of it. My father in law had multiple myeloma and has weight limitations on anything he can lift.
My question is has anyone added an lp generator to their rig? If so where did you put it?
He has room in the front compartment where the batteries are. I'm thinking an onan 4000 lp. Has anyone done this?

Option 2 is for him to get 2 Honda eu 2000 and parallel them when he wants to run his ac. Otherwise he can run just 1 for basic necessities. I also found these with lp setup so that's even nicer. [emoji3]

Option 3 is a Honda eu 3000 and for him to leave it in the back of the pickup.

Thanks for the input!

The EU3000 is HEAVY. I owned one. I ended up putting a aftermarket wheel kit on it (nice fat rubber ones) so I could ramp it into the bed of the truck. If he's unwilling to do that, the 2 EU2000s is the way to go.

Onan is easier once installed you just have to deal with lp tanks. I view the onan as way lower theft item and its always in the camper. Now the down side is if you never use it, well its always in the camper. Or if you have other times you need a generator but not the camper. Only you can answer which is best, but I wish my 5th wheel had one.

Due to injuries I have this in the bed of my truck and it works very well for me. I am sure he could use it to hoist a large gen into the back of his truck.

Before you decide to run an LP generator, where and how are you going to refill the LP tanks? On a trailer they are a PITA to get in and out, and they are not light.

If a separate outside tank, is it light enough for him to lift in the back of the truck and get filled?

Or, is he in an RV park where they will do that for him?
