Lightbulb Generator Help

Picked up me new Seismic 3210 fifth wheel three weeks ago had a terrible PDI one hour, when starting the generator does it automatically take over if plugged into AC or do you need to unplug from AC before starting any help would be appreciated also there is a small hydraulic closer attracted to bottom of entrance door has anybody found a way to disconnect as I see it as a problem when it is windy probably would break any help or ideas thanks in advance

As long as your transfer switch is working, it will switch to the generator power as soon as it comes online which turns off your incoming shore power, BUT doing this is hard on the transfer switch depending on how much "stuff" is operating when the transfer occurs. Some may disagree, but I NEVER switch to generator power without turning off the breaker from the incoming shore power. I want my transfer switch to have a very easy time making the transfer.
