Generator Preference for the Pinnacle, LP or Gas?

Recently upgraded to a 2017 Pinnacle 36FBTS. It is all prepped out for either LP or gasoline but would like the opinions with Pictures if possible of which is best and why. I would appreciate it very much. Interested in pic install of LP.

I'm pro LP guy. Majority will tell you gasoline is better. I will tell you LP is better.

I like LP for the following reasons.
*No leaking smelly gasoline cans in the bed of my truck.
*Gasoline cans are more likely to be stolen than LP tanks.
*Gasoline will need constant treatment to prevent the carb from gumming up.
*Gasoline units will have an evap system, LP doesn't.
*LP units burn cleaner, so no carbon build up on the pistons and head.
*LP units burn cleaner and produce less toxic exhaust.
*LP units burn cleaner, so the oil doesn't get as dirty and typically engine life is longer.
*LP units burn cleaner, so the spark plugs last longer.
*You will always have LP onboard.
*LP has no shelf life.
*Gasoline has a short shelf life.
*LP won't have carb issues.
*I feel LP tanks are safer than gasoline fuel cans and onboard gasoline tank.

Converting your unit from LP prep to Gasoline will have added costs. You may or may not have a place to install the gasoline tank.

We put 267 hours on our Onan 5500 LP unit in 1.5 camping seasons time.

The Onan 5500 LP will burn slightly more LP in gallons vs the gasoline model. You can compare the factory specs between the two.

Another option would be the gasoline fuel injection model. No carb to gum up. If I really had to go with gasoline, I'd go fuel injection. My choice would diesel but that is a very heavy and expensive option for a 5th wheel.

Another vote for LP on a towable.

If they had that option when we bought our FW we would have gotten it instead of gas. For one thing filling the factory gas tank is a PITA since it is under the goose-neck. As Earl listed there are numerous benefits to LP. All you have to do is look at the whole house systems installed as well, 99% are either LP or natural gas.

Unfortunately we were not given a choice...we were told it would be LP but turns out to be gas. As mentioned it is a PITA to refuel the tank. Have to actually unhook to refill. We put in a 7000 Onan and we can get about 10 - 12 hours on 3/4 tank.

And the extra LP storage area (on the door side) is used for our water softener so I don't have to keep moving in/out while camping. The dealer ran water lines for us (yes, we had to pay but at least that was one less thing I had to do).

We ordered the LP generator in our unit and would not want to mess with gasoline.

I put a 5500 Cummins in my North Point last summer. I am very pleased with the LP! It is less convenient than gas just because of propane availability, but it didn’t bother us this summer. Go LP
