Genny and three air conditioners

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I went out and cranked the Genny on our new Pinnacle. It is almost due for overhaul, all of .3 hours on the tachometer before I ran it, lol. I saw the dealer run it briefly during the PDI and figured I should test it. Yes, I know the routine, run it regularly under a load to keep it fit, just hadn't thought about it. Started it, didn't wait long, and started an AC, so it quit. Retried it, let it run for a couple of minutes, and Started AC #1, all good, AC#2, all good, AC #3 and all good. I told my bride, just like our boat many years ago, all good, just don't run a hair dryer!! We can cook, gas, and will have to test the microwave to see if it keeps running. As long as we can stay cool, I am happy. On our 41' boat in another lifetime, I had my bride, daughter and her girlfriend friend on board all the time. They all understood when hair dryer time came, daddy had to pull the breaker on something else on the boat, and it was an 8KW diesel Onan.

Yep. Adding soft starts to the AC will allow the generator to tolerate if 2 of the ACs cycle at the same time. There’s not a whole lot of spare watts when running 3, but it will handle it

I need to read up on them, keep seen them pop all regularly. Hopefully not too hard to install, lol.
