Gnats, Gnats, Gnats - Everwhere

Ok.. I've tried the vinegar, sugar water, Wine, Sugar, Water and even Raid Spray and i can't win with these pest flys.. Do any of you guys/gals have any success stories on getting these miserable pests in control ? This is the worst ever i've seen them here in the West.

Here in MO there are quite a few people that take a quart bag, put a penny in it and fill it with water, then hang it

We ran into a plague of gnats in IN last year and this was a god send

The DW also spent some quality time sucking up bugs with a cordless Dustbuster, the gnats seemed to have a weird fascination with the pendant lights in the kitchen and made easy targets
