Goodyear G614’s

Do any of you that tow a heavy Northpoint or Pinnacle have Goodyear G-614’s on their rigWe are in the process of picking up a new 2020 Pinnacle 36FBTS and I am thinking of swapping out the Load range E Goodyear Endurance tires that are coming with this Pinnacle for the Goodyear G-614’s Load range G. I had these on our Columbus that we are trading in and had great luck with them. Thanks

I just read my first post again and I get where you might think that. My first post I was asking about people who were running Endurance tires. Then I saw on another forum about a 2020 Pinnacle that had a blowout with those tires with only 3000 miles. I probably worded it wrong. My second post I wanted to know if anyone was running the Goodyear G-614’s and how they liked them.

You can have a blow out with any tire.

Here's a post from RVnet:

Just had a serious blow out on my LT235 85R 16 (G614) tires that caused some serious damage. They are the original tires on my trailer.

I have heard a lot of RVer's who have gotten Goodyear to pay. What process do I follow. Who do I contact at Goodyear -- my local dealer.

From MONTANA owners:

I recently sold my trailer and it was being transported to Florida. The driver had a blowout on a G614 Tire that I had put on in the spring of 2012 (They were not used much). The build date for those tires was December 2011. Shouldn't Goodyear replace this tire for the new owner?

.

The Sailun S637 is EQUAL to the G614 and cost about 30% less

They have a higher load rating than the G 614, it's the same as the ENDURANCE at 4,400 lbs.

I put G614’s on our ‘13 351RLTS. From memory I’ll say we’ve about 20k miles and 5 years on them. We had 2 TowMax failures in a 70 mile stretch and a third one was on its way out. The 614’s have had zero issues and I’m a fan. The Endurance was appearing at about the same time and I wasn’t familiar with them and needed something quick. Shortly after getting them I discovered my rims were only rated to 80psi, soooo I’ve also upgraded the rims and run the tires at 110psi.
Our 5th scaled at 12700# which may be lighter than what you are talking about.
A side note, my TPMS alerted me to both failures and I credit it with preventing serious damage to the trailer. I’m a fan of those too.

Sailun tires are made in China.

Goodyears are made in the USA

The 614's are a very good tire and Goodyear stands behind them.

Try getting Sailun to stand behind theirs.........

I had 5- G614's installed on my 2011 Eagle 351RLTS in 2014. They are still great and I have never had a problem with them. No cracks or apparent wear.

I filed a claim thru a Goodyear commercial tire dealer and they worked with Goodyear to get credit for the LR E Marathons towards the G614's that kept wearing and blowing.

My auto insurer paid the rv damages less the deductible.
