Got the dreaded bed room slideout crack

We are in the middle of a month long trip in the western states and have discovered a crack about 2" ling on the bottom front corner of the bed slideout. I know there others here who have the same issue. How was it dealt with and what was the root cause of the crack? I will be watching the crack closely on our trip and heading to the dealer as soon as we get home.

Most manufacturers put a "H" trim on one or both lower slide corners. There is a relief cut in the fiberglass under the trim. This allows for movement and expansion that is normal to a 5th wheel overhang.

Update.....

Just heard back from the dealer this morning. Jayco wants the trailer back at the factory to do the repair. We are going to make a trip out of it and take it back ourselves. Made the arrangements with Jayco already for the 30th of sept and they say it will take a week. Actually looking forward to the trip. Will get to tour the plant and see parts of the country we have never seen. I must say even though I hate having the issues we have had with this unit, Jayco has stepped up each time. Though I was skeptical at first I'm glad now that we chose Jayco.

I had the same crack you have. Jayco fixed at factory, dropped it off on Monday and picked it up on Friday. Been over a year and about 10,000 miles later on all kinds of roads and no more problems. Can't tell there was ever anything wrong with it. Mine was caused by either a bad weld coming loose or not properly welded to begin with. Jayco took apart , rewelded and added braces on both corners. Can't tell where they worked on it. We were treated very good by Jayco.

I keep looking for the "crack". So far we have been spared. I hope if it was going to show up it would be in the first few years. We have towed this one a good many miles in the last 2 years.

We have a 2011 31.5 RLTS that has developed the same crack in the same place as yours. Took it back to the dealer who sent pictures to Jayco. Jayco sent back a service bulletin that gave explicit instructions how it was to be disassembled and then repaired. My dealer didn't have the facilities or the accredited mechanics to take the job on. They did however know the shop that had that capability. That shop wanted the unit for 2 weeks but were busy enough that didn't want it until fall. Jayco was OK with that. Will take it in October so they can have it awhile.
It was a 4 page repair directions that Jayco sent. They made it very clear, fix it our way or don't touch it!!!
