Gray tank question - tank 1 & tank 2

I have a 2020 355 MBQS, it has 2 gray tanks. Gray 1 seems to fill up constantly, but gray 2 seems to take much longer to fill.

While I had hoped they would be connected so as one filled, it would go to the other, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I’m assuming tank 1 is the restroom showers, as my wife, 3 daughters and my daughters friend in this trip to the beach don’t shy away from the shower. My son thankfully uses the bathhouse. Thank goodness for full hookups.

Tank 2 I’m assuming is for the kitchen.

Since we have a washer / dryer installed, I’m guessing that also goes into Tank 1?

Does this sound right to anyone else with this model, or a similar one?

Yes you are correct. Same thing on our Eagle. Only way to slow the flow into tank is wet down shut shower head off. Soap up. Rinse
Us less than half the water! Taking the lady or ladies of the house into this method... Not happening with my wife... So about every two to three days shower tank is full.

You can also put this on Valterra Black T58 Twist-On Waste Valve and open both Grey tanks and will allow them to flow into each other and get you more capacity when not in a full hookup site

That's exactly what I do. I have two separate 30 gallon grey tanks that come together before the dump connection. I put the Valterra Twist-on valve on the dump connection, close the valve and open both grey tanks and now I have 60 gallons of grey water capacity.

I have a 355 MBQS as well, Grey 1 is the bathroom shower and sink and is a 50 gallon tank, Grey 2 is the Kitchen sink and is 35 gallons.

Thanks for clarifying! I’m assuming the washer / dryer goes into tank 1 as well.

This looks like a handy modification. Being my 2 gray tanks have separate dump handles in the convenience station, and the underbelly is sealed, it seems that this is a tough one to go after.

I don’t have the washer dryer so I don’t know.

One more piece of information, the dump valves from left to right are black, then gray 2 then gray 1 on my unit. I have seen others say it is black then 1 then 2.

I think he means to put a twist-on gate valve on the outlet on the side of your rig, you don’t need to open anything up. Just don’t leave it on when you travel because it will be right against the wheel.

I was gonna post this same question but I think you answered it. Looking at the handles it's black, grey 2 then grey 1. But I saw another post where others say theirs is black, grey 1 then grey 2. Guess it doesn't matter, just want to know grey 1 is shower if that's correct.

pour some colored / dyed water in the kitchen sink and then pull gray 2 and see if the discharge has the color.

I should've done that with one tank and the antifreeze before winterizing the faucets, lol.

if you have the macerator... you don't need another valve...the extra valves are there already to do this!
