Gray tanks HELP

1st RV!! FULL TIME!! In our 4th week. 2022 Northpoint 377RLBH. I’ve been cramming like it’s my college finals. Every spare second I get I’m learning as much and as quickly as possible. I’m pretty handy and can fix all my landscape equipment and trucks but this is all foreign to me. My gray tank 2 is full. Gray one and black are roughly 2/3 because I know the sensors aren’t exact AND/or don’t always work. We are moving to a new spot tomm and I was trying to hold off to drain everything until right before we’re about to leave. Is it ok To Drain GRAY TANK 2 only right now and tomm before we hook up to truck pull the black and then gray 1 and then tank flush with the port. Thank you in advance for your help!!if I’m not 100% sure I am very hesitant to do anything because we are complete beginners

Dump if you need to. Also you can do a partial dump of the grey and hold back enough for tomorrow.

Tomorrow you could also add a bunch of clear water to the tank before dumping.

So, are you saying it is ok to pull the lever on the gray tank 2 and let some out and push it back in to save some for tomm? That was what I was thinking about doing but I wasn’t sure if doing that could cause water to go back up and contaminate something

Gray tanks HELP

I also agree, you can partial dump the gray tanks. I would not suggest that with the black tank. It will contaminate your drain hose, you need to follow up by dumping the gray tank to flush it.

I have actually dumped my gray water in a 5 gallon bucket and then flushed it down the toilet to get it full to do a good flush on the black tank. I don’t recommend doing that when you or your spouse are using the rv, the gray water can stink worse than the black tank sometimes.

By this time, you've probably already taken care of it, but the gray water will be just some soapy water from showers, hand and dish washing and won't back up or cause any contamination anywhere. I don't know what the tank capacity is, but if you just need some more space in it pull it for 5 or 10 seconds and then close it. That should give you roughly another 5 or 10 gallons of space until you dump all the tanks. If you accidentally empty too much, just run a faucet for a while to fill it back up tomorrow.

That's good to hear. I remember sending the DW outside to pull the gray valve for a bit when I was in the shower, and it stopped draining. Thank goodness the sewer hose was already connected. It may have ended badly for me outside in a towel.

And welcome to the Forum from NYS! We're glad you've joined us!

You are saving some gray to run through your hose to rinse it after the block.
