Greasing the bearings
2019 Jayco Pinnacle. First time greasing the wheel bearings. Do you have to remove the wheel? On line it shows removing the center cap to get to the rubber cover. I could not get the cap off.

If it's like mine the cap will come off. Look for a seam just below the cap on the side. You can slip a small screwdriver or strong knife blade in there to gently separate the cap from the cover.
If you remove the tire from the hub the whole cover will come off from the inside of the wheel, but that shouldn't be necessary.

I believe there is an end cap on the big cap that pops off.

The center cap will come off with a thin blade flat screwdriver inserted into the "seam" of the cap. Just work around the center in a few different places a tad at a time. Use a good grease and only a couple of pumps will do it. Too much and you will either damage an axle seal or get grease on your brake shoes, neither of which you want to do. Most manual pump grease guns takes about 6-10 pumps to fill a shot glass. (reference point) Lol.

Several will say the best way is to remove the bearings and pack them. This will ensure a seal is not blown. However I have greased my bearings for many years this way and never blown a seal doing so. Keeping in mind the warmer days are better for the flow of grease.
I'm a firm believer in removing the wheel. First, keeping the center cap on will allow grease to remain in the cap. Removing the wheel will provide for a cleaner greasing. I put a piece of cardboard on the ground and let the grease fall while spinning the wheel. I also have a cordless grease gun with two speeds. Always pump the grease at low speed.

Like others are describing, my center cap has a removable disk on the outer face. Behind that is the rubber plug. If your center cap doesn’t have a way to get behind it then, yes, you need to remove the wheel.
If you elect to use the “ez-lube” grease zerk make sure you understand the greasing process. Pump grease SLOWLY and only while the drum is turning. There are several YouTube vids on the procedure.
The Dexter vid posted above is a very good tutorial on repacking.
