HD TV Antenna

Our Jayco Eagle has the HD antenna that you just turn to receive local channels. In our other TT, it was the King HD antenna, that had the lights to tell you the strongest signal. Does the Jayco not have that? There are no lights with the knob that you turn. Is it located somewhere else, behind the tv maybe? Or are you just supposed to turn the knob until you get better reception? The antenna knob is in the hallway but no signal lights.

Mine just has a directional knob on the ceiling that tells me the direction the antenna is pointing, no lights. Then I have to push the booster switch up in the cabinet to help with reception.

I go to Antennaweb.com and enter the zip code where I'm at, and it will tell me the stations that I could pick up and the direction of the transmitters. I need to make sure I'm always carrying my Boy Scout compass...

Thanks. I added a compass app on my phone so it can help with my Dish satellite.

I have the same deal, turn the antenna to find stations, but, since I never know if I'll have internet to check for pointing, I downloaded a poi file for my handheld garmin that is pulled from FCC tv tower locations. Gives me azimuth and distance.

The King antenna I install on my last trailer had the attenuation adjustments and led lights to indicate when you were getting the strongest signal. I was surprised the King antenna on my new trailer didn't include the signal strength indicator. It's worked find. Usually I'll look around at the campsite to see which direction everyone else has their antenna pointed.

I use a free app called “antenna point”.

The directions for my antenna state that if the reception is poor, rotate the antenna 90 degrees and re-scan. Not too scientific, so I installed a tv station locator app on my phone.
