Heater access

Just curious, has anyone tried to get to the heater in there unit. I can see the back side of the water heater when I open the small panel in basement for water filter access but u cannot even see the heater thru the rat nest. Looks like the whole wall would need to be removed and than good luck getting thru everything. Jayco first told me I had an access panel in my 1/2 bath but I do not
Maybe other units r different but the FBTS does not have a removable panel that I can find

All the basement panels come out with a few screws to provide unobstructed access. You need to take them out in a sequence due to some overlapping and screw arrangements. The problem is unloading all the basement contents.

Make sure you unplug the 12V lights and electrical power is off to the entire unit as there are receptacles and wires all over the place.

I had to do this 2x's for my EMS and expansion tank install.

Not so in my 33.5 RETS, 2014 model. No access to furnace whatsoever. Front carpeted basement wall came off with screws. But then there was another wall behind that permanently in place. Dealer had to cut a hole out of that wall to get to my furnace to get it out. Over 3 hours labor to replace a $25 control board that would have been a 5 minute job had there been an outside access door. I'm just glad it went out under warranty so I didn't have to foot that bill!

Yeah just to save a few bucks they don't put an outside access door on. Lucky my 2005 still has it. For minor problems the furnace has to be removed and bench tested. While with a door you can leave everything in place and able to remove the main components.
The RV industry getting poorer by the day. Yes with a quick look everything looks nice and shiny but behind the shine the workmanship is poor.
You can order the door and everything needed from Atco.
