Help me figure this out please

We just spent a week in San Diego and all went well with the trailer, HOWEVER, on the way home we spent a night in Bakersfield and I discovered an issue with the city water hookup. I only travel with about 1/3 of our water capacity on board and usually fill up when we arrive if there is no city water hookup. This time I hooked up to city water and when I got up the next morning I found a good size puddle under the trailer that was coming from the area of the fresh water tanks. Over night the fresh water tanks had filled up from the city water connection. How did this happen? Our trailer has separate connections for onboard fill and city hookup. Where do I look fix this issue?

I would guess the check valve on the outlet side of your water pump is letting the city water back flow to the tank. You could have a weak valve or been hooked to a city system with high pressure that pushed back through.

Yup, water pump check valve is leaking. However, you can buy an in-line check valve. It will be cheaper than replacing the pump.

Had the same thing happen to me. It only did it one time after sitting for 4 months of no use. I did nothing to fix it and it has not happened again.

I would check the control panel. If you go inside the basement and remove the screws on the side carpeted wall directly next to the panel you will see the manifolds and switches controlling the water system. There on the floor should also be the pump, screen and lines going to the freshwater tank. You might have a bad valve in the manifold letting water back into the tank.

The super lites don't have that type of system. The city hookup is separate from the tank fill port.

Sorry did not know that. I would go with the check valve then. Do you have a pressure regulator on your hose when hooked up? Sometimes water hammering can also blow them. Especially if you are running high pressure from the CG.
