Help! Schwintech slide fail half way

After a long weekend, I attempted to retract the kitchen Schwintech slide. It moved half way in and one side stopped. It's Sunday, and no mobile repair is answering. I attempted to get to the electronic controller to do the 6 push button override, but it is placed in a way I can't see to even tell if there is an error code. My question is this. There is a dealer about 30 miles away. can I take back roads and slowly drive there with the slide half way out? It's either that or wait for the mobile repair to arrive, probably tomorrow morning.

Will it go out? Check and make sure the wiring didn't unplug. The motors are at the top of each side.

Are you able to extend the slide out all the way? You might try that and hold the switch for a couple seconds. This should reset the motors. YMMV

Ringnes, Jayco, in an absolutely crazy engineering decision, put the electronic controllers for the Schwintec slides above a 4 inch false wall that hides other wiring. The LED light that shows what the error code is, and where the button is to push to override the system, is hidden from sight as a result. This placement completely obscures that LED display, unless the false wall is removed. Unbelievable. I have owned this RV for 3 years 7 months, and this is the fourth time one of the two slides has stranded me on a weekend trip. These are the worst designed slides I have ever seen, and ultra sensitive. I am going to have no choice but look for another unit, and hopefully one with no Schwintec slides.

Finally diagnosed the problem with the help of a mobile RV repairman. The screw holding the motor on the end that would not move had broken off, and the motor was not engaging the slide as a result. Got it manually pushed in and reset. Brought it home and put it in the shop. Why in the world would these manufacturers continue to put this system in these RV's? All of us in the forum have read the stories. The repair guy had a lot more.

Thanks for following up. I try to soak up all I can in regards to this system for “when” I have a failure.
