Hercules Trailer Tires

Has anyone had any experience with ST tires for Hercules? Just got 4 ST225-75R15 Load range E for my 08 Eagle Super Lite 30.5 RLS. I know they are made by Cooper Tire. Any real world experience out there?

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

Google "Hercules ST225-75R15 reviews".

Here's one opinion:

Any 5ver with 16" or larger rims should use Sailun S637 G rated tires as they are proven on many forums and now standard on many new 5th wheels. I have them and love them as there a commercial tire and we paid $140 per tire.

Did I misread that review he said he was running trailer tires on his s10 pickup? Go figure they dont last if that is the case and at $58 a tire not sure which one it was but their 901's are more like $150 tire.

I have used hercules tires in the past on my truck years ago. They were very good. If you do a search on here, IRV2 or RV.v.net I think you will find very good reviews on them as this has come up before.

If they are China, I'd not buy them. Goodyear Endurance tires are US and seem to be doing well in the field so far. US LT tires are a good option as well.

Problem with Goodyear endurance is there only available in an E-Rated tire and if you have a heavy fiver their too light and you should go to a G-rated.

LT it, they come in higher load range if you need more than an E.

Put an LT tire on a pinnacle and it will fail. The side walls are not strong enough even if you find it over an E-rated. And yes G-614 is the next step as i was saying E-rated tires should not be used on heavy 5vers. The beast tires are gone on the pinnacle in favor of g-rated.

Nah, some of large high end trailer manufacturers put on LT tires right from the line. Read lots of ppl put LT tires on heavy trailers with no issues. Here the farmers run LT tires on their hay trailers which they grossly overload. I put LT tires on my previous 5th wheel and the thing never pulled so good. LT tires flex a lot when used on the steer axle of vehicles. If these endurance tires don't hold up I will replace with LT's.

Take that hay wagon to 65 MPH over loaded. In the old school days it was the standard but with today's heavy 5th wheels the LT tires are too light and are not recommended on a 15000 lb + and high sided 5th wheels, it will over heat the tires. and then the blow out. Here in Florida i see many many big 5th wheels on the side of the road and the rv torn up because of tires not able to do the job. If you have a light 5ver then you should be ok with e-rated or LT, but big 5vers like the pinnacle you need to use G-rated to be safe. But to each is own i guess. on my new unit the Goodyear e-rates were the first thing gone in favor of ST G rated.

FYI you can get LT tires in higher than E range. Those farmers are rolling on the highways like that! They are crazy lol Teton 5th wheels use to come with LT's. Those were some mighty big trailers. Shame they went belly up. But there are/we're other big luxury 5th wheels coming out of the factories with LT tires.

Our 2018 KPTS came with Goodyear Endurance tires. Yes they are E rated, but the specs are quite impressive. The 255/85 R16s that came on the 5th wheel are speed rated at N (87mph) and are load rated at 4079 Lbs. each.

Considering that the trailer is about 16,500 loaded with 3000# pin weight, that leaves about 13,500 on the tires. At a maximum weight capacity of 16,316 on the 4 tires, looks like there is a little under 3000# leeway.

Have towed over 7000 miles and so far so good with the Endurance tires.

Hope I haven't jinxed myself.
