Hitch Question
What after market hitch is adequate for a 39 foot 15k fifth wheel? We had a "Fifth Airbourne" on our Montana fiver but I need to make the most economical buy this time- I understand there are a number of manufacturers in the field- What is your experience with these hitches? All replies appreciated and respected- THANX for all replies in advance- DD

DD - I don't have a lot of experience with 5er hitches, as my current one is my first, but it is a Reese 16K signature series. Performs very well, with no chucking at all. Very pleased with it. A lot of folks buy the expensive rubber mounted and air assisted, etc., but I decided to try a no-frills one to start with, and glad I did. FWIW.

I have the same 16k in my Ford. I also have the Mor/Ryd hitch pin on the 5er. Tows like a DREAM, not a nightmare.

Same combo. Preforms flawlessly! Mor/Ryde and 16k DrawTite. Same as Reese.

We have a 16k Husky and the Moryde Pin Box on our 5th Wheel.
Works great, had the slider assembly with our short bed 2500HD and Eagle 5th Wheel, sold the slider part of the hitch and got the fixed mount for the Husky when we got our long bed 3500HD.

I use a universal Ranch hitch adapter V19 certified for trailers up to 24,000lbs. Lot less stress on the truck frame, more mobility.
