Hose quick disconnect

Hey guys I need your guys opinion on hose quick disconnect? Do you use brass or plastic and any recommendations for any? I am currently using plastic and have had them almost a year and they are starting to leak so nothing ever last anymore. Thanks guys

I’ve used the brass ones with good success. Gently tighten them and make sure the washers are still in place when you put them on initially. Everything has a failure rate and an end of usage date...

We use brass, just make sure you are not connecting into any different metals.

I’ve never seen these before. Just curious, since you have to screw the quick connect on to the spigot/faucet and the hose to it, what’s the benefit? I just attach my hose and leave in place until we are leaving.

I leave them attached to all my hose fitting including the 2 ends of the Y I use at the spigot. The only screw on connection for me is the actual Y to the spigot. Beyond that its all quick connects...

If you use them for your drinking water make sure they are lead free.

I use these on every connection. Very well built and so far leak free.

Congress banned the use of lead in potable water drinking systems in 1986.

The website states these are 3/4". Do they fit the standard Camco drinking water hoses regardless of diameter? Or do they have to be 3/4" hoses?

If you decide on brass make sure they are brass. There are also aluminum connectors that look like brass (plated or anodized). I wound up with a couple of them by mistake. They’re easy to spot as they are much lighter than brass.

Yep, I just ordered some brass. Twice as much as the aluminum plated. But I know they're brass.

All garden hose fittings are 3/4” no matter the size of hose

So nobody should buy anything from China that has to do with ingesting food or liquids?

They'll fit any hose with standard fittings.
