Hot Water Heater

Greetings... new owner to propane and electric water heater. Propane will fire for about 4 minutes and the electric does not seem to work either. Can't seem to find temp control or figure out whether the electric side is plugged into the tank with a temperture control. It seems as though on propane that the temperature get to a very low temp and then cuts off the propane completely. Let it cool down and then I have throw the switch inside again.
Thanks from new Jayco 26ft 2000

The electric heater has a switch outside that has to be turned on to work. THe switch is in the hot water panel. The propane should have a adjustment on the panel to make the water hotter.

Thanx... it is a good site for trouble shooting but did not see the condition I have. On the outside there are no switches to turn on 110 but one inside, I know this is an easy fix but being new to this tank I'm still feeling my way around. There is something I am missing.

Not all HWH have an outside switch.

Interesting... all switches are located inside 5th wheel. Should be no problem. Turn the swith on and 11o should heat tank. Turn propane switch on inside and propane should fire. No response from 110 and propane will fire but only stay on for about 4 mins. I can't even find where the 110 goes to the heating element in the tank.

Tanks Alot....

Thanx for the patience and help. I just hate it when there is a problem and it is quite fixable. The Shut Off Valve was off and it is now working. Tanks again and to all a good nite.
