Hot water heater bypass value

We have a 2020 Jayco 5th wheel 317RLOK. Hot water tank is full and heater functions, we have hot water in the tank. We know that because when we drain the tank the Hot water is there. When the hot water heater bypass value is in bypass mode, we have water at the hot water spicots in the kitchen, bath sink and shower but it is cold water. When we turn the H. W. Bypass value to normal, we get no water at all in the hot water line, but do have cold water in cold water line. Again we know there is water in hot water tank and there is pressure in the hot water tank because when you open the pressure relief value, we get hot water.

It was working up till 2 days ago.

Is this a hot water Bypass value issue? Any suggestions?

I could be the bp valve or a stuck check valve if there is one between the wh and the bypass valve.

Sounds like a bad check valve on the water heater. It's right at the the tank where the line connects. You probably have a plastic one, replace it with brass.

Thank you! We have an extra brass check valve and will try that! We are in remote area; would love to not be without hot water for next month!

you CAN use it without the check valve, but you'll want to make sure it's replaced before it is winterized. This is a common problem with the plastic check valves...
