How do I fix day/night shade?

I was opening the shade over the couch of my FW the other day and the string broke that the shade goes up and down on. Does anyone have advice as to how to fix it? Thank you in advance Bill

Hi Bill, I have restrung several of my pleated shades and still have one more to do (the one behind the sofa that has 4 strings).

I was able to buy some of the string from a local home decorating store, but there are also some websites that sell it as well.

Then I simply went on to Youtube and there are quite a few demonstrations on how to restring shades. It was a pain in the butt for sure but it can be done.

The DW really hopes our next RV wont have the pleated shades. I love the look of them myself but they sure don't stand up to any amount of use.

We own a Jayco Bungalow and a 33RLDS, both have those shades. On the Bungalow we have replaced almost all the shades with solar screens and non see thru shades. We are going to replace the ones in the 33RLDS . Just had one of the pleated shades fixed today and was told that a lot of them came from China and there is a piece of plastic in the bottom that rubs on the string and will break it. That's why we are replacing them.
