How long should I cut a board

Camper is 60 miles away and I’m home with boards and a saw. How long should I cut my 2x12 that I am going to place under the duals? 4 feet enough or should I go 6? Both the dealer and campground manager recommend parking on planks. I have a pinnacle 36reqs btw

I don't think anyone can tell what you have in mind to do with said board. So, that makes it hard to tell you what length to cut. If you mean boards for leveling? I prefer shorter boards for the individual wheels. Measure twice, cut once.

If it were me, I would use this opportunity to buy a cordless saw and take it with me. Every project gets me new tools

Duals of camper parked on a pair of 2x12’s. Camper spot is semi permanent and my camper will be parked there for a calendar year. Park manager and rv sales said put the tires on planks. I have a pair of 2x12’s 8 feet long that I’ve had around forever. I also don’t have room for 8 foot boards in the back of my car.

If i'm in dirt, i'll dig down a tire drop trench on the high side. The few times i leveled on an uneven asphalt surface i used 2x6 x 12" long stacked under each tire. If at all possible, i prefer digging the tire trench

Might need a new cordless drill to go with that just to be safe!

I have that same philosophy for projects!

4' should be more than enough. The tread surface patch is much smaller than that, and that length will leave lots of space for wheel chocks.

The longer the boards, the better. Better stability in loose/unstable ground. Cut them to the longest length you can haul in your car. Angle/slope the ends.

Maybe you can haul 8' in your car? Get creative- angle them, use floor board, open windows, hatchback can hang out the back, strap them underneath...

Ended up cutting them 6 foot. It appears that that will work fine. 6 is all I could fit in the hatch and it worked.
