How stupid is this

Got a call from RV Connections where my FW has been for two months getting numerous stuff done. Service writer says his generator tech will not work on my Onan generator cause it is a ticking time bomb. I said WHAT!!!! Because it is not propane but gas. I about lost it, hello factory installed and no one else ever had a concern. Well it has a gas tank next to it and batteries up front and it’s an explosion waiting to happen. After a long discussion I finally gave up. Trying to figure out should I call Jayco since not this dealer but other RV Connections sell Jayco and let them know what is going on with repair shop. And all this dealer ever did was brag about his Onan gen tech how good he is. Well I gotta meet this gen tech or should I say u know what!!!’n

You don't want them touching your unit at all.

That's a good one. I guess it's the same for snowmachines, quads, on and off road motorcycles, jet skis, farm tractors,...... lol!

X-2 Obviously the Tech wasn't trained by ONAN or maybe anybody since gasoline geny's were the norm for decades.

I was so taken back with this call I should of said. So what do u and ur tech drive a Flintstone car. U have a gas car open battery and fuel lines within a four ft space not separated by anything. This thing is just beginning, this is just insane. I am contacting Jayco corporate, Connections corporate and filing a TSB complaint that I have a bomb and let them all deal with this. I am also calling my insurance company and telling them I am scared to death to step foot into my FW since it might explode and file a claim.

Our 74 Winnebago MH had a gas Onan and we drove it for nearly 15 years & no explosion

For a fleeting moment, I tried to think of a way to put myself the the tech’s shoes.... but, no, I just cannot connect those dots. There is a reason that the solid metal partition, sealed with gasket, between the vented generator compartment and the vented battery compartment is called a FIREWALL!

Wow...had our Onan installed by an authorized dealer and guess what, it has a gas tank and right next to our 4 batteries - separated by sheet metal!

Here is the good part, service said if it was propane he would work on it. I replied I can see that since propane is so much safer than gas and a leak would just blow out a flame and not blow up like gas. Here’s ur sign!

Klassic,
It is like the last four years I have a big (I will be nice and say dark cloud) just hanging over me. Why did I ever retire and move to Mexico Beach of all places. But with all that has happened we kept our health and got a great rescue hurricane dog. I look at this generator thing and have to laugh because it is so stupid it is funny in a way. This place got nailed and there are only RV Connections and CW still here. Might have to drive far to find an Onan dealer.
Still deciding to call my insurance and claim RV is unsafe and let them deal with these idiots. I would hope someone up there food chain would not be happy. What do u think of the insurance route to make a point?
