How to remove vent on stairs for 2016 Pinnacle 36FBTS

I need to remove the vent to access the basement to do some work. The vent is located on the stairs.

Has anyone removed the vent? I noticed both ends of the vent move but seemed to be fixed in the middle.

Anyone have experience removing the vent?

It's probably stapled. Look for a small putty area.

I believe it is stapled as Grumpy said. Carefully try to pry it off.

Thanks Jasum and Grumpy. That is exactly right. Carefully pried the vent out of the stairs. It popped right out.

When I am finished, I will just pop it back carefully.

Thanks Guys!

I'd use a couple finish screws when you put it back.

Thanks Grumpy for the suggestion, I did put a couple of screws in to make it easier to take out the next time. Just cut off the staples. I should have put finish screws in. I didn't have any and put a couple of screws in that are really too big.

Ok, well. Live and learn. Thanks again for helping us less seasoned folks.
