How to Reseal

I was looking at the front of the 5'er where the trim is on both sides of the bedroom, the rain has been running off the roof and the sealant has eroded away. The area I am talking about is the trim on the bottom of the bedroom area on the sides of the trailer where the pin is. It looks like it was butyl tape between the trim piece and the fiberglass. How do you seal that up without removing the trim? There isn't much room between the fiberglass siding and the trim piece to work anything down in there, and since I have to redo it, I would rather use something that will last more than a few years. The 5'er is in storage about 20 minutes away, and I may need to pictures to explain the area I am trying to describe.

Mine has a smooth line of caulk along the side of the seam.
