Ice maker problem

We have a NorthPoint 387RDFS. I have an issue with the ice maker. Sometimes the system works as expected, and without changing anything, the ice maker will not function. Upon inspection, there is ice in the tray but the ice does not eject. We have to thaw the maker and the system then will work for sometimes days and then the same freezing problem occurs. Any ideas as to how to correct this troublesome issue?

The ice-maker cycles based on temperature of the ice tray, does the freezer temp change?

At the beginning of the cycle, an electrical signal is sent to a water valve to fill the ice mold with water. Then, the freezer goes to work freezing the water. A signal is sent to halt that process when an internal thermostat indicates the cubes have reached 5-9 degrees Fahrenheit.

After the cubes have been created, a heating coil is activated to loosen them from the molds
