Install solar controller 321RSTS

Hi I have question has anyone installed MPPT solar controller by the battery compartment in a 321 RSTS? The prewire is in the hallway wall. I want to install by the batteries. I can’t find the negative wire from the solar panel anywhere. Also I see I need to connect the positive wire in the wall to make a connection. Jayco has made it very difficult to change location. Before I run my own wire I thought I would ask the community. Thanks

Look behind your panel where the battery disconnect is in the pass through storage. There you should find the solar hot wire connected to the block and you may have to fish around for the ground.

Thanks for your reply. I got the hot wire but, I’ll again look around for the ground. If any one has an idea where it’s at it would helpful before I disassemble all the walls in the basement.

You should see up near the wall a bolt where a lot of your ground wires are attached. It us probably in with those. You may need a toner with it connected to your wire for the solar on the roof or you may be able to connect it to the ground on the solar on the side if you have that. I believe they both go to the same place. I plan on doing this this spring as it's to earn cold and snowing now.

Thanks for the help. I spent an hour trying to determine the positive solar wire with a volt meter and finally determined the wire was spiced inside the hallway wall after cutting a small hole where the Jayco put the decal for the controller location. Good luck with your install.
