Inverter Error E03

Hello,

My husband and I have tried dozens of searches to try to find an answer, and came up empty handed. Hoping someone in the group can help us. We have a 2017 Jayco Pinnacle 36fbts. My husband accidentally hooked up the battery backwards and now our inverter is giving an E03 code and is showing 18 volts instead of it’s typical 13 volts and no longer stays on without shore power.

When my husband hooked up the battery backwards, it blew several different fuses - in the radio, On Demand water heater, etc. which are all now working properly with replacement fuses. We are hoping there is some kind of fuse or breaker that just needs reset in the inverter, because it will not run the refrigerator when we travel. Does anyone have any advice or information?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

There are Pinnacle owners on this forum that will probably respond to your questions. That said, other trailers have fuses in the converter that blow due to reverse polarity. It is likely Pinnacles have similar fuses.

Sorry I couldn't help more than that.

Some inverters have reverse polarity protection fuses. Check for them
Just a thought. You may have already tried that.

Turn the inverter off and unplug the camper for a few minutes. Plug camper back in and see if that rest it. Not sure if that will help but I reset mine like that one time.

From the Xantex manual ...

CAUTION: Reverse polarity
DC power connections to the XM 1800 must be positive to positive and negative to negative.
A reverse polarity connection (positive to negative) will blow a fuse in the inverter and may permanently damage the inverter. The fuse is not user replaceable and the inverter may need to be returned for servicing.
Damage caused by a reverse polarity connection is not covered by your warranty.

Important: In order to reset the unit after an error has occurred, you have to remove shorepower (i.e., AC input), turn the unit off, then turn back on again.

E03 is an over voltage error.

Also you should have blown the reverse polarity fuses in the trailers fuse panel.
They are the big ones on the right hand side.
