We chose to go with the Andersen Ultimate Hitch (rail version) in our short bed 2016 F-250 for the ease of removal (at 40 lbs) which allows for an empty bed. It also weighs 100 lbs less than most standard 5th wheel hitches. Installation of the hitch & standard bed rails took 4 hours.
We placed the hitch ball towards the tailgate and the cone on king pin adapter in front of the king pin. This configuration maximizes the clearance between the nose of trailer and back of the cab. We can make an 80 degree turn without contact, and probably more if we tried. The hitch ball height is set to the 2nd hole which helps to level the trailer. Clearance over the bed rails is 9 inches, so we shouldn’t anticipate any issues with direct contact.

We upgraded to the MorRyde Orbital Pin Box mostly because Jayco is no longer including the Rubber Pin Box as an option. When we took delivery of the trailer and attempted to install the king pin adapter on the pin box, it was a really tight fit, and it would not push into place. We ended up having to grind the shaft in order for the adapter to slide into place. I performed extensive research on the hitch, and did find any feedback on this issue, so I assume it’s unique to the king pin or our situation.
The hitch was installed by the factory in locked position which was left in place as rotating pin boxes aren’t recommended to use by the AUH. Another reason we upgraded to this pin box in case we had issues with the hitch, we would have the freedom to switch to a non-slider.

Installed a bidet in the bathroom which is definitely a luxury item. This will hopefully save on toilet paper usage and make dumping a little easier. The plumbing was pretty tricky as I had to cut into the pipe and install a PEX T fitting with clamps as well as a PEX fitting which connected to the standard 3/8” toilet hose.
We also replaced the standard toilet seat which was really uncomfortable.

We considered purchasing the Andersen Jack Blocks, but the price wasn’t justifiable. So we made our own utilizing 4x2’s. The front landing gear blocks are 5 levels high and the rear’s are 3 high. We stack both on top of each other (as depicted) when parking the trailer on our driveway is on an incline.

Interesting item! I couldn't use it as I don't do well with the cold water shock lol I see they make one with a hot water connection but that still wouldn't solve the cold water blast. Lol

Ours is still sitting at the dealer. They found some minor issues that they are fixing. We also ordered slide out toppers and the factory forgot to put them on. Jayco won’t let the dealer use anything but the factory ones so waiting on those. Not really a big deal as we still have snow on the ground.

We thought the same thing, but decided to order one for the house and give it a try. You get used to the cold water and it works so well. The excellent ratings speak for itself.

We have a list of 20 issues for the dealer to fix, but our next appointment for service which we made at delivery isn’t until 4/20. Mostly all minor, but annoying. The biggest one was the outdoor kitchen was installed crooked, and the left locking latch doesn’t close. If we didn’t have a trip planned for the weekend after, we would have not signed the papers until all the issues would have been resolved. On the other hand, most of the issues weren’t discovered until days later.

Did you install the base (black round) on your landing gear? If so, what is it? TIA

I had to laugh after you spent all that money on the TT and mods but go cheap on the blocks.

You do have a point there. The wooden blocks do offer better stability especially on non-solid surfaces. Plus I am able to stack them while the trailer is in my driveway. I don't think you can stack the Anderson's, though if I could it may be too high.

Installed a 12V evaporator fan in the fridge which helps with distributing cooler air to the entire area. When the fridge is full, items closest to the fins would just about freeze up and the rest of the area would struggle to be cooled, especially when it is hot outside. This inexpensive mod has made a difference so far.
I ran the wire down the condensation drip tray which ends up at the rear of the fridge which is accessible from the outside. I then wired it directly to a 12V line as depicted in the photo with yellow arrows. There switches for the LED light and the fan.

Replaced the obnoxiously loud and weak bathroom fan and vent cover with a Fantastic Fan. For those who have one (or one similar, i.e MaxxAir), you know what kind of upgrade this is. For those who don't, get one! The fan moves air through our trailer efficiently and is quieter than the stock fan. We got the lowest model which has a manual switch. There are other models available with other options such as automatic temp control and a remote control.
