It's a good thing I left my --- in the truck today

Ok. I have had possesion of my FW for seven weeks. Dealer is now entering week eleven in his possesion . If u read my posts it took almost seven weeks for Jayco and Lippert to agree on my brake issue which was one of my 15 things to be fixed under warranty. So no blame on dealer. Well during that time my front cap was hit by another Rv. So FW is ready. I take off half day of work to get it. First thing I look at is front cap. Paint job looks like ****. Than I notice both lower metal side panel had the paint rubbed thru to bare metal. This was probably caused by a stand against the sides while they were in the basement working on my water valves. Probably moving FW against the stands moving around. Than I start looking at my list and three items were never even looked at. So now front cap and two side spots have to be painted and the other items fixed. Oh and also totally dead batteries. Did a volt check one was 1.1 and the other .98 volts. They replaced both batteries before I left without my FW. Like I said good thing I left my --- in the truck. Now on my third R\C trying to cool down. WTF

That's why I am taking mine directly to the factory to have my work done in the fall .... I didn't trust my dealer not to spot in my front cap and call it good and I don't want a shoddy job that has to be redone. I feel your pain

I cannot do that since it was a dealer accident. He must do it. I might call my insurance company and have them handle it and charge it to the dealer if possible

Good idea but the insurance company should go back on the dealer ... it shouldn't cost you for their mistake

Who said that JAYCO and LIPPERT couldn't agree on the brake issue? Did you get that info from them or your dealer?

I have to ask, since other people I know have had problems that JAYCO and LIPPERT or DEXTER resolved almost instantly with the dealer leading the way. 90% of the time the dealer is the weak link.

I called Jayco after the dealer told me they would only pay for one brake repair. Jayco tech and me had a long talk. The dealer resubmitted all the paperwork and photos and they finally agreed to pay just about all the labor and Lippert sent the parts. Lippert sent all left side so that than took longer. During that time the damage happened. And there contract repair job ######.

Dang! And they already replaced the batteries? Won't they both be dead again when the 5W is finished?

Well I called my insurance company and filed a claim. Have to call first thing to a local rep in the morning. Than calling the dealer and telling them DO NOT TOUCH MY RV. I am going to tell the local rep to meet me there and now u fix it and charge them. With all the white paint rub from what ever hit it u could not see much else. The blended paint job had orange peel and on a ladder looking in the sun light u could see some small indentations. Well fiberglass does not indent even slightly without breaking fibers. So I am going to tell the insurance to replace the cap and see where that goes

Now on my 5 R/C

Rock, like I said before if you want to check if the fibreglass was compromised then pull out the front shelf and you can see the back side of the cap.
The shelf is just screwed in as one unit. It's easy to remove.
You said you didn't have the shelf and just had a cedar wall, but the 360 view shows the shelf.

Tks you are right I will tell the insurance guy to do that. **** its Been so long I forgot what it looks like. I have contacted my insurance and they will be calling me today. I emailed the dealer and told them do not touch it. The insurance company warrants work for as long as u own it. Monday will be three months on there lot, my better half want me to contact a lawyer. I checked out my roof with the tech and my right side aft has several very small ridge areas that u can push down on. Nothing near as what AZ has on his. Tech said he will take pics and document so Jayco is aware if it becomes an issue. I wish this was all an April fools joke Ahhhhhh

They tried to fix, it is better but sill not real smooth. They removed side molding and pulled it tighter but the only way to get it perfect is to remove the inside slide Facia. You know how that will look after being removed and reinstalled

Rv regulations r lacking. I think that is the problem. Insurance called and will be sending an adjuster out to do a complete cap evaluation. He said any repairs and especially on a new unit should be perfect. So they will handle and ensure it is so and fully warranted. Will find out Monday.

Well got my insurance estimate for the cap repair and paint. Told dealer I am picking it up this Sat weather they r finished with the warranty work or not. Another RV place has a body shop and said it will be perfect and they also do Jayco warranty work. Three months today sitting on the repair lot at my dealer

Well I picked my unit up yesterday and finally my list of warranty work is completed. Talked with GM of dealer and they are paying my deductible for my cap repair. They did not charge me for my three low profile vents or labor. I stopped by the RV place that will be painting my cap and side damage. The body shop painter looked it all over and as soon as the three front decals come in they will schedule the repair they were washing a TT that just had the front cap pained and looked great. So hopefully my nightmare will be over soon.

So what did your dealer say about the shoddy paint job they did?
Was it acceptable to him?
