We had the thermostat set on 65 degrees and the interior of the camper stayed warm but obviously not enough heat goes into the tank area to stand those temps. We tested all of this at home before we left so we had some idea what were our limitations before we hit the road.

There are some easy mods you can do to prevent this and extrend your season a few weeks maybe even another month, all of the supply and drain lines are just laying in the underbelly, a little pipe insulation on the keeps them from freezing and the ice follows the line right into your tank so if the line freezes your tank will eventually. Give it a thought, I did mine this weekend and I was shocked at the placement of stuff under that underbelly... who runs water lines against the steel frame thats the first thing to transfer cold to the lines... also where the line run through metal cross members theres bad rub and wear potential that could cut into the supply lines.

We took delivery of our first fifth wheel in mid August. It is an Eagle Premier 351 RSTS. Winter is coming way too fast.

New Jayco owner here. I've been using a bumper pull HiLo when I came across this Jayco parked along my street. I liked it and he was ready to sell.

2008 Jayco Super Lite 29.5 RLS. Would someone please decode what 29.5 RLS signifies? Thank you.

As far as the model number (code) you mean? It's a 29'(actual length may vary) Rear Living Slide (Single more than likely) fifth wheel

I wondered if the 29.5 signified the length but other sources said it was 31'7" feet; perhaps one is interior size? and the other exterior?

RLS, Rear Living-room Slide. OK, I have two of them.

Correction to RC-# - mine actually points the other way around <Grin>.

Thanks folks!

I haven't found a trailer yet where the model number actually matches the size but theoretically that's what it is. There are several threads on here about decoding.

My wife and I sold our old, well used fifth wheel and bought a new Eagle Premier 321RLTS. We picked it up in Golden,CO and drove it home to southern California. It towed great and most everything was up to expectations except for a couple of small issues to do with interior finish, nothing really unusual or worth hauling it to the dealer for. Programming the Atwood auto leveling jacks has proven to be a bit complicated but I will keep reading. I will upgrade the batteries to dual 6 volt as we occasionally like to dry camp. Great forum!

We bought a 2008 Eagle Super Lite 30.5 RLS in July of this year. Well loved by the previous owners, looked like it came off the showroom floor. 3 trips so far this year.

Which Jayco 5th wheel do you own?

Purchased a new 2013 Jayco Eagle 31.5 RLTS in Nov. '13, put 5,085 miles on it since spring of '14 and love it and everything that has needed to be repaired has been taken care of under our warranty, all of which were minor except for a bad rear axle that wore off the inner edges of both rear axle tires and even that was taken care of by Dexter (axle mfg) by replacing the entire rear axle assembly and even upgraded the wall thickness on the rear axle at no cost to us and replaced the tires too, and a bonus was they allowed us to keep the entire axle assembly (axle beam, leaf springs, brake drum to brake drum) which I can take to a truck shop and get this axle re-bowed to correct the camber specs to correct the problem so the tires track evenly across the entire tread (wheels were tilted inward at the top & bowing the axle more will correct that problem) so I will be able to build myself a nice flatbed trailer with a 5,200 lb. weight rating!!! Very happy with our Jayco Eagle and its nice to know we purchased the most popular 5th wheel Jayco makes according to this poll!!!
