Jayco Exterior Satellite Hookup Photos (Request)
Hoping to pick up our new '19 336FBOK this week.
Documentation states the "Independent Satellite hookups." I translate this
marketing to mean the Rig has wiring run to the roof for a satellite antenna.
Does anyone have a newer Jayco that has a photo of this exterior hookup?
Planning to get Directv and would love to not have to run new wiring or do any extra drilling.
Thanks!

Don't know that model but my guess is that it is a side coax port to connect to a portable tripod or auto tune outside dish.

I have to agree with Bassdogs, I don't think they are referring to roof mounted satellite prep.

We have DirecTV and use the coax port on the side. Our dish is on a tripod, which I believe is much better than a roof mounted dish. The primary reason is that you can put the tripod in a location that gives you line of sight to the satellite. Many camping sites are under or around trees which block the satellite signal. I am able to position the tripod, set the proper angles on the dish mount, and get a signal to the TV in 5-10 minutes. A satellite finder app on the phone, and walkie talkie comm with the spouse helps a lot.

I just use the Compass Galaxy app which shows north, south, etc. With my Winegard Pathway X2, it says to point the coax connections to the north which I due and the dish does the rest. It automatically seeks out the satellites which are in the southern sky..........have never had a problem doing it that way as long as there are no obstructions.

The bummer of this is, I went with DirecTv, but found out that I can't get HD channels unless I get the trav'ler roof mount. Id rather do a dome on a tripod but it seems that's only SD. Is this true for those of you with that setup?

Thanks for the responses! I ended up cancelling DirecTV and going with Dish so we can get HD w/ a portable dome. I learned that I would void the warranty of the 5th wheel if I were to install the Trav'ler antenna.

For $130 at Amazon, you can get a complete setup that will give you HD TV reception using your DirecTV HD receiver.

Packing the HD home receiver every time you go camping is a PITA. If your DTV receiver is just setting somewhere easily accessible than yeah its easy. Most people have their home stuff in a cabinet. Unplugging and plugging back in then resetting up is a PITA IMO.
If you go Dish you can have the receiver permanently mounted in the RV and all you have to do is drag the dish out, connect the coaxial and let the Dish do it's thing.
Just depends on how long you're out on the road and how long you stay in one spot.
