Angry Jayco Flooring

We have a Jayco fifth wheel that the flooring is curling up where the slide meets the island. We’ve had it in to Johnny Walker’s RV three times and still nothing has been done. We’ve contacted Jayco service manager and supposedly the new linoleum has been ordered. Has anybody else had this problem of the linoleum curling where it meets the center island? I will keep everyone posted for an update. Very frustrating to pay $60,000 for a 5th wheel to have had so many issues.

My 2022 28.5 RSTS has this problem. My dealer knows about it, but hasn't gotten back with me. He is supposedly contacting Jayco. When I get any news I will post it.

I don't know what the solution is going to be, but I'm going to the dealer Monday to see what they have found out. Always seem I have better luck going in person.

i dont have the curling up problem but i have problems pulling up the flooring when i vacuum with a shop vac. This tells me that Jayco does not use glue to place the flooring, they just lay it out.

The problem is with the slideout vinyl, not the main floor. Pulling the slideout in, the slideout vinyl bunches up against the kitchen island. Seems it wasn't measured correctly for clearance.

There is another JOF thread on the same "bunching" problem, but with the 25RB TT slide vinyl floor. Jayco's 'customer service' response on the existing 25RB matter wasn't favorable.

It’s actually supposed to do that, otherwise you would have a large gap when the slides are out. The edges are finished and rounded off, right?

I can only reference the 25RB TT's similar problem, but it appears that Jayco felt it wasn't an acceptable condition. Jayco eventually made a cabinet design change incorporating a 'recessed' toe-kick so the vinyl wouldn't 'bunch-up' when the slide was closed.

I'll check better when it gets a little warmer outdoors. It's a high of 9 deg today, the trailer is outdoors and I don't want to take a chance of cracking the vinyl running the slide in and out. When the slideout vinyl butts up against the island in the kitchen, the edge of the vinyl raises up close to 2 inches. Not good.

I think this is all “much ado about nothing”. The vinyl is extremely flexible and the curling won’t hurt it in my opinion. Time will tell I guess.

Very possible. I'm not too concerned about it, but it would be good to know. I bought this trailer in July, and the curling hasn't been a problem yet. It flattens back down within a few minutes.

Same here. Let’s keep each other in the loop if it starts to degrade so we can jump on a warranty claim before time runs out.

Sounds good. I'll do that.

The carpet in our slide out doesn't seem to have that problem.

We have a ‘21 RLOK and have the same issue. The flap on the slide curls up at both ends. Attached is a picture near the door where the slide out butts into the island when closed. The other end curls up as well but it doesn’t hit anything when closed so I can’t explain that end. It lays flat in the middle of the slide so it has me baffled.
The dealer “fixed” a couple of gouges in the floor by heating it and manipulating while soft, so I’m hopeful that my solution will work. I’m thinking of putting a heat gun to it to see if it will relax the vinyl and then taping it down for a couple of weeks to see if I can train it. Will be late March/early April before I get a chance to do that. Will update then

Talked to Jayco yesterday and they have said there is nothing that can be done, put a rug down to keep from tripping over the curled up section. I can’t believe I spent $60k and then asked to get a rug to cover it up.

have you tried to flip it up when you pull the slide in so it doesn't curl? Is that possible to do?
