Jayco to the Rescue
I have a Thetford Aqua MagicŪ Style II head in my Designer. In the 17 months that I have lived in the Designer full time I have had 3 problems with this unit. The gasket at the bottom of the bowl started leaking and was replaced under warranty. Then the water valve started leaking on the floor also replaced under warranty. Then three days ago the flush pedal fell off and my dealer couldn't figure out how to make it stay on. It appeared to me that the plastic had just worn out from use. Thetford refused to fix under warranty because their 12 month warranty was up.
Up steps Jayco. They agreed to replace the entire unit under warranty. I asked if I could pay the difference and upgrade to a different model since I don't have a lot of confidence in the original for full time use. The answer was "you bet". So my dealer has a Thetford Aqua MagicŪ Style Plus on order. It has the flush on the front and my dealer says they have a lot less problems with this design. We shall see, but they aren't charging me but just a little bit for the upgrade.
Thanks again Jayco.

Ed, is that the porcelain model? I understand they are now putting them in Jayflight TT`s. I have the plastic one with the foot pedal in the front, I do not remember which Aqua Magic model it was.

Ed, that is great.
Stories like yous is one of the reasons we bought a second Jayco.
Jayco stands behind their product and puts the customer first.

I think our Super Moderator has flushed a few too many!:hihi:
Both models are porcelain bowl. The original one has the flush pedal on the side and is considered the entry level porcelain bowl model. The replacement has the pedal in the front and is one step up. The next step up is "Crazy" pricing.
Hopefully this will solve my problem. Three issues in less than a year and a half and with only one person living here......Not a good record.
