Just wondering

Why did Jayco put an electrical outlet above the kitchen sink.....I know to plug things in....but I always thought water and electrics don't mix. It would have been more useful to put it somewhere else

Forward your concern to Jayco. I am sure it would be on GFI just like it is in the bathroom sink. Also I am sure in your home there would be an electrical outlet by the sink too, at least I have in my home, only 1 ft. away. If on GFI don't worry one splash and the breaker goes.

That's really not an issue.. Both the hot and ground must be immersed in water to create a short. Small bits of water that MAY splash up near the outlet really isn't a problem.

Under the counter coffee maker is a great idea, but that is where my plug is, I just think that putting a plug directly above the sink is a design flaw. I would have liked it better if it had been in the wall.

X2 - my outlet isn't right above the sink, but it is mounted under the cabinet and I have to bend double to plug anything in

My trailer has the same setup. I am guessing that putting it in the outside wall opens it up to cold drafts etc. not much thickness to external walls leaving under cabinet best alternative and cheaper install. It will be gfci protected.
