Angus, are you saying that your controller for the kitchen slide has a manual override button, if so what is the model number on the controller?!?!

I wonder what the kitchen slide weighs and how far out it travels?

The controller you're referring to would be your bedroom slide, right? Is your kitchen slide controller easy to access?

Al, my bad; I forgot for a moment that we are talking about different slides. I had trouble with the bedroom slide and that does have a controller with an override. The other controller box on the basement ceiling, which i assume is for
The kitchen, doesn’t appear to have the electronic override. But it is still a
Schwintec Slimrack. Sorry for the confusion

Is the kitchen slide controller easy to access for you?

Yes relatively,, and yes it is the same llippert model as yours. It is on the ceiling in open space of the basement. The bedroom control was next to it but above a corner of the forward bulkhead where you could not see the trouble lights or override switch.

In the picture below, the kitchen controller is on the ceiling and the bedroom controller is in my hand in the back. It had been mounted to the left and front of the kitchen box.

It extends 24". I have no idea what the weight is. The residential refrigerator is >600 pounds without any food AND beer. Then you need to add the weight of the oven, cook top, microwave confection oven, TV & fireplace, not to mention the weight of the cabinetry. Any engineers that would like to figure out the weight

A 24" slide out, the graph seems to indicate about 1250-1300 lbs as the design limit. Just wondering if a percentage of these slide problems are because the Slim Rack can't properly handle the weight. As someone has said, maybe hydraulic with rack and pinion should have been used for the heavy slides. Can't find any specs on electric through the frame with rack and pinion.

I'm sure Jayco must know how much each slide weighs, and if they don't they are even more dangerous than I thought. My kitchen slide has to weigh every bit of 1500 to 1700 pounds if not more.

I had to sell my 2018 Jayco Pinnacle 36KPTS due to the completely unreliable slim rack 144" slide mechanism.

Apparently Power Gear bought Shwintek, slimrack is built by Power Gear. I just spent over $6,000.00 Canadian to have my Schwintek change out to Slimrack on my 2015 Winnebago Journey. Winnebago apparently is not installing Schwintek anymore, only Slimrack. We are hoping for the best..........

I think if Jayco had placed the fridge in the middle of the slide, it would have evened out the weight. The fridge side stutters quite a bit. But I think their "engineers" are all high school dropouts

I have to stop following this thread. We're at Myrtle Beach for the week (Willow Tree RV Resort shout-out) and if our kitchen slide doesn't close on Saturday I'm blaming you guys! 😊

Welcome to the forum!
You question is a good one but is a bit out of place on this thread. But here you go...

https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...lbh-65791.html

You'll get good results using the search function on the forum heading bar. In this case, "Awning recall"
