Lack of a mattress

So we took out our new 2017 Eagle HT 27.5 rlts for our first 4 nighter. True to all of the horror stories that I have read about - the mattress is horrible. I am 5'10", and 205lbs. The mattress already has sagged on my side after just 4 consecutive nights of sleep. You can visibly see and (def) feel the crater that I left. My wife's side (yes she is much smaller than me) is flattened!!

Has anyone tried to get Jayco involved with this, and what was the outcome?

To replace this POS with another new POS will not due the trick...

Just sitting on the Simmons in the trailers on the lot told us it was junk. We are pulling the residential mattress from our trade trailer to go in our 2017 Eagle 293RKDS and putting the Simmons in the trade when our Eagle comes in to the dealer.

I would assume Jayco would replace it with another low quality cheap pos. They won't give you a grand mattress to replace a 100.00 one. Maybe you can get them to send you a check of the value and use that towards a new mattress of your choice?

I have my doubts that Simmons even made those. Jayco probably paid them to use their name.

Yes, our old TT mattress was shorter than the new 5th or we would have done that. Our old mattress may have been 4" thick, but we slept great on it for 3 years and no lumps, or valleys!!

We are hoping to lodge a complaint with Jacyo, maybe get some $ out of it and buy our own.

POC Mattress

We just purchased a new Jayco 5th wheel. The first night I realized what a POC the mattress was. Order a new from Amazon. Absolutely love it.
So far the mattress is my only complaint.

Ah the never ending "mattress" discussion and I use the term mattress loosely. We bought our 2017 Jayco rbs in June. After our second outing we were noticing low spots in the mattress. By the fourth outing we might as well just slept on the plywood base. We removed all the bedding and laid a broom handle across the mattress. Using a tape measure we measured the depth of each depression and took pictures. It was 1 1/2". I was also able to remove the cover as it had a zipper at one end. What a surprise. If you look back in my previous posts the pictures are there. I went to my dealer and they forwarded the info onto Jayco. They did replace it but it was with the same POS. If they will give you a credit I would suggest going out and buying your own.

I have heard that if you do as you mentioned, Jayco will credit and cut you a check for $155 towards the mattress of your choice. We will see...

I got tired of the poor quality mattress's found in RV's and bought a standard Queen memory foam from Costco.. best investment I ever made.. (I had just enough room to fit in a full queen)

This isn't brain surgery people. When my wife and I were headed to pick up our new 5r. We stopped by Burlington Mattress on the way and bought a new mattress. That was the best thing we bought for our camper. Jayco has good quality in alot of things, but there mattress is really lacking.

We had the same problem with our 2017 Jayco HT 28.5rsts. The mattress sagged after a week. As well, it is as hard as a board. Don't get Jayco to send a replacement--you will have the same issue. Ask for a credit and buy your own mattress.

Bad Mattress

We're going on an extended vacation with our 264BHW, leaving Easter Sunday & we're going to pull our queen mattress off our home bed and throw it in the RV. We've camped with the original mattress about 20 nights last year. At first it was OK, but it's definitely deteriorated, almost to the point of getting tossed.

Looking at the thin piece of 3/8 inch plywood they use for a base is also incredible. If we were to keep this trailer long term, I'd consider taking out that base and putting in a sheet of 5/8", along with a bit more bracing.

^^This^^

I pulled the old mattress out as I have to have the dealer fix the bracing under the plywood bed. Never even used it and one of them is cracked. That's when I noticed the flimsy 3/8" plywood. Half of the screws weren't even seated tight so they were digging in o the mattress. I see a project ahead of me...
