hauled many a barrel of 55 gallon drums of avgas and mogas out into the jungles with them. Spent three months in the Ashau Valley in the summer of 67 on Operation Cumberland with the Marine infantry. Ah, what memories!

Hey Joe-
Did the Ashau Valley thing in 68 with Army infantry. Walked man a mile thru that jungle. That was something along the Ho Chi Min trail.
Happy RVing,
Jeff

M35 pulling a trailer and the trailer has the 5th wheel hitch? Looks like a dangerous combination. I used to drive the company M35A2 tool truck in Germany and my truck was so overloaded, it would barely do 25 mph up this hill outside Nuremberg. Unless that guy has one of the M35A3s with the newer CAT engines in it, I'd bet that is a crappy tow vehicle.

My memories of the deuce and a half are not pleasurable, nor was the five-quarter. But the jeep, now that was fun.

Drove the duce and a half all along hwy 9 from Dong Ha to Khe Shan, pulling Artillery, not a vehicle I would want to tow a 5r with, great power but not great speed. Even split shifting it sucked at getting speed....now in mud, great... all wheels pulling can't hardly stop it. Watched the traffic on Ho Chi Min Trail from top of 881s NW of Khe Sahn in spring of 67. They could shoot at us, we couldn't shoot at them, wonderful war huh.. gotta love politicians running a war.

My Fav vehicle was the mitey Mite....all aluminum mini jeep 1500 lbs of get up and go...shot wheel base gave ya a yippie ki a ride ! lol

If that is what I think it is it's not dangerous at all, looks to be a Automated Safety Hitch setup The Automated Safety Hitch | Trailer Hitch | Gooseneck Horse Trailers | 5th Wheel RVs | Flatbed Goosenecks | Fifth Wheel

To be fair, the closest we have here in Canada to hillbillies is Saskachiwanians. Maybe I would think twice then
