Leaking hot water pipe

We discovered a leak in our new Jayco Eagle on a hot water line going into the bathroom sink, leaking into the storage compartment. Anyone know if these clamps can be tightened? If so, what tool would I need to purchase to tighten the crimp on this line?

Cannot be tighten, only replaced with pex tool from Lowes , Home Depot or Amazon. They are are two different types of pex crimps. I use the large crimp tool with solid crimp rings but it's hard to get into tight spaces.

YOU can try to tighten them with a pex crimp tool for the pinch rings. The tool needs to be adjusted for proper tension and if out, the clamps will not be tight enough. The tool will run from about $30 and up...remember you get what you pay for. I purchased the sharkbite tool a few years ago, it comes with the gauge to check for proper adjustment. If all else fails, typically you have enough pex that you can pry the clamp off and if needed recut the pex pipe and put a new ring on it.

Good Luck.

The crimps on the fittings can't be tightened. I would just cut the original fitting out and replace it with a pex sharkbit fitting. Replacing it with $10.00 fitting is so much easer than dealing with a dealer for warranty work.

Good. I also like the Sharkbite fittings (although some do not).

The other problem is that tightening the fitting probably would not have helped. I have had two of those elbows crack and leak. Just another place where the mfgs have saved a few pennies at our expense.

Given the number of changes I've made, and the cost of the Sharkbite fittings, it would have made more sense to get a PEX tool, some fittings and crimp rings.

You may be able to tighten the clamp using a pair of nippers

https://www.harborfreight.com/10-inc...per-38496.html

I have a pair in case of emergency but follow up with a Sharkbite replacement to be sure it’s done right.
