Leaking Valve

Anyone had any issues with fairly new rv having one of the grey water valves leak? The valve has a cable connector. Only seems to leak when moving to dump station.

Grey water baths suck, but at least it isn’t black.

Yep, mine seeped a little after being on the road for a while. That drain line holds a couple gallons

I put a twist on valve at the drain. That way I didn't get goo when hooking up the sewer line.

Before you give up on trusting the valve look at two things.

Clean the valve out. A tiny piece of junk can jam it open and cause a leak.

In you case, since it does not leak till it is moved, look at the valve opening system. Is it to tight so trailer movement pulls it open? Could be you just need to figure out a way to take a small amount of tension off the line. Alternatively, maybe figure a way to hold the valve shut with a bungee cord or something.

I suspect the problem is debris from installing the tank fittings.

I think....that when cutting the holes in the tanks they leave the plastic bits in the tanks and then screw on the fittings. Those little bits of plastic get embedded in the seal and it never works quite right. No, I never opened mine up to check.

REwahoo said it all. Add the valve at the hose connection site. It's not if your valve leaks, it's when your valve leaks as they all do eventually.
