Leveling Blocks, SnapPads, etc.

I have some yellow Camco leveling blocks that are probably 20 years old so I'm looking to replace them. I've looked at some of the fixed height types, like the Andersen buckets, but I really think the flexibility of the stackable kind is probably better suited for us. It's hard to find anything with weight ratings but Camco does have some gray or maybe brown blocks that they say is rated for heavy use. I'm also thinking about some sort of pad to put under them. Any suggestions?

I did a search and found several older posts about the SnapPads. I thought maybe someone might be able to say how they have held up. I'm not sure of the value of them or if I did get a set would I even need the leveling blocks. I have the Equalizer leveling system and set of 6 is $325. Seems kind of expensive for what you get but maybe they are beneficial enough to warrant the cost.

I've had my SnapPads for 3 years and have had no problems at all. They add about an inch to height and about an inch in diameter. Provides great stability. I still carry my Camco yellow blocks but very seldom have to use them depending on the site. Mine are for 9 inch pads and are available on Amazon for $207. I have the SnapPad Xtra.

I went with the snap pads. The feet on our system were too big for the Anderson buckets. I also bought big round fiber discs to put under the snap pads (probably overkill) when I am on unsure ground like gravel or grass.

Al, I looked on Amazon and they don't have the Grand Lux 6 pack which I need for my Equalizer system. I think Jayco started using the Equalizer leveling system starting with 2020 models. They are $325 everywhere I look.

Jim, what is the diameter of the landing pads on the Equalizer? Just checked and appears your front are 12" and the other four are 10". The SnapPads on that size system would make your rig "Big Foot" I would go for it.

I purchased mine from United RV. Very knowledgeable and helpful in ordering. Unfortunately my cost a couple months ago was approximately $410.00. It’s mainly because these are so big 2x12” and 4x 10”. At the time that was the best deal I could find as well as being able to find any that fit these big feet.

We've had the snap pads for almost two years now and very satisfied with them.
Before we had them, the thin feet on the middle stabilizers got bent from trying to level on a very unloved site. Thus decided to get the snap pads for stability and to help prevent damage to the feet....so far so good from being on not so great sites and limiting the damage on the feet. I still use some leveling blocks under the feet to limit the extension of the levelers and help reduce trailer movement, and having the snap pads on the feet provide more surface area and friction between the feet and the plastic blocks.

Yes, the front set is 12 inch round and the back 2 sets are 10 inch octagon.

We have the SnapPads installed and love em. I use them with the Stromberg Base Pad Extreme as the Anderson pads have that raised lip that doesn't work with SnapPads.

We have those as well. Our dealer said those were the ones we needed. I think i got them from United RV as well, and they were backordered, so it took a couple of months to get them. They are big and work great

After watching a few videos and reading the comments on my post I went ahead and ordered the SnapPads. When these first came out my thoughts were kind of negative. I really didn't see the need but now that they've been around a few years and seeing the good reviews, I warmed up to them.

I usually do a few upgrades every year before the season starts. With the Roadmaster shock set, MorRyde X Factor crossmembers and now the SnapPads and some new leveling blocks, I think I'm done for this year, but it's only January.

On our Jayfeather we use the stackable blocks and if on dirt I just put those plastic cutting boards under them like you get at Harbor Freight, Walmart and other places to support everything. Has worked good for a while now.

Those are neat. I have used everything there is as a pad in my 40 plus years of rv'ing, to include wood. You are right, it is cheap, durable and replaceable. With 6 feet and larger pads on the Equalizer system, 10 and 12 inch, storage becomes an issue with the number of wood blocks I would need. The camp sites we tend to use each year have varying degrees of levelness so the flexibility of the stackables works well for us. As a woodworker, I admire your work.

I just carry them in the back of the truck. Lots of room.. I also have the Reeves Gooseneck so i really have all kinds of room back there. I do intend to get the Snap Pads because they would be handy for quick stops and i like the protection they offer to the metal plates. The wood blocks were initially heavy but now that they have dried out they probably lost 30% of weight. I also soaked them in Thompson after the water soaked out.

I've never had the desire to carry a lumber yard with me while traveling. I've seen some campers carry enough timber to rig a 50,000 pound crane. Just not my cup of tea

I dont think you have room with all that iron back there.. or is it you that carries beer cans? I can't remember. One good thing about carrying lumber, at least ou got something to create heat if an emergency arrises.
