Lippert rear stabilizer

Still learning this blog concept and hoping I get it right. Anyone have this electric rear stabilizer problem? I can press the extend switch, get it going but if I stop before it sets down it won't extend or retract without manually cranking it some. It reminds me of a starter motor with a flat spot. Maybe dirt in the motor?

Nope, mine works fine but reading this reminds me that I want to put some grease on mine.
I bet you're right about a dead spot on the motor.

My rear stabilizer works just fine pushing the button. However, using the remote is another story. Stops and starts and just stops. Works fine with the manual push button. Gotta get new batteries for the remote! No telling how old they are! lol

I was just going to start a new post on this, but I think that I'll add onto yours. We're camping now, but on Friday I pressed the button and nada! Got out the test light, and started tracing. Power to the switch, and pressing the switch indicated that the issue was elsewhere. Pulled the plastic cover off the motor and a little water came out. Pulled the 2 screws off the motor and pulled the cover off. When you do so, your pulling the magnets off and exposing the armature and brushes. It was wet with some rusty water. I cleaned out the best I could, removing the water, drying the brushes and put it back together and pressed the switch. Oops.... retract was now extend and extend was now retract. Remove the cover, rotate 180 and put it back. Success!

So... mark the top of the cover, pull it and check for water and clean things up. A little air would help, but I did it without it. Then put it back together and give it a shot.

Thanks. I'll give this a try and with luck it will just be dirty. Going to be using next week again so want to get it done.

That is good info to know. My front motor is inside the front storage compartment so if that gets wet I really have a problem. The rear motor is exposed underneath the flooring so that one could be a problem. May look at some way to protect it from the elements when driving through wet roads.
