Lippert vs MORryde

I'm confused. I have been reading how bad the lippert bushings are that come on Jaycos. I looked at my 2018 Eagle and saw MORryde Cre3000 on mine. Good or bad.

We have a 16 Eagle RSTS we do not have many miles on the camper. There is no doubt to us bronze bushings have to be superior to nylon.Just depends on you mechanical skills and time!We still have stock bushings, do have upgrade kit in the closet. Thanks

My fifth wheel has the MORryde CRE3000 and I had the MORryde heavy duty wet bolt kit installed in it. I was told that either kit could be used but I stayed all MORryde. Bought my wetbolt kit on Amazon for about $69, and local shop did the install in under two hours. My rig had about 40k towing miles on it at that time and bushings, shackles and bolts were all ruined or heavily worn. Feels good knowing that its now done.
There are many posts about this and many, including myself, have posted pics of the removed parts.

Bushings surround the bolts that go through the shackles.

The CRE3000 is an equalizer between the two leaf springs.

Here is the thread on my installation of wet bolts (with some pictures): https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...kit-52714.html

If you have the MorRyde CRE3000 , their equipment has brass bushing with no zerk fitting. The outer ends of the spring shackles that connect to the frame bracket are the ones that need the greaseable bushings. There will be 8 in a dual axle trailer.

My suspension just started popping and it has the CRE3000. I crawled underneath and did some prying and could not tell there was any play in the bushings. If they are tight then what is the popping? I just posted video in another thread. I have been tempted to spray lubricant to help with the noise. I’m wondering if bushings are just dry but are still good for now.

The nylon bushings don't turn smoothly, they "cog" - that is they resist turning. when you put a bit more force they "pop" as they move a distance.

Think of the second hand of a quartz watch. It sits in one place and then "jumps" a second. That is how the bushings rotate. And each time one overcomes the friction and jumps, it makes that popping/creaking sound.

[edit] The nylon bushings are intended to run "dry" - not lubricated.

I have the CRE3000. When I did the wet bolts I found that the bushings in the CRE were worn as well and one of the shackle bolts was seized in place. I replaced it with a new one. Didn't bother moving to the 4000.

I upgraded my suspension to the CRE 3000 after only towing less than 2,000 miles on my factory bushings. The nylon bushings were virtually non existent. The CRE 3000 came with wet bolts and brass bushings which are far superior to the nylon ones. The new equalizer made a huge difference as well.
