Little black ants

Has anyone had trouble with those little black ants. Please advise on what to do to get rid of them.
Thanks

NooooOO NO! LOL... this kid don't do little/BIG black/red ants of any kind! (Ya gotta love traumatic childhood experiences!)

When we unhitch, (especially me) we pay particular attention to the ant traffic anywhere that ultimately connects to our tt. We try to connect our elec/satellite/water so that the cords/hose don't come in touch with the ground. If we see we are parked on an ant hill, then we adjust the position of our tt away from that point or just bail on that site and go to another if one is available.

May not be the best method.... but no matter, if needed (sorry Green folks out there) we usually "hit" that contact on the ground with Raid (around the landing gear, tongue pole, tires -being careful not to get the Raid on the tires-) or "dab" a little on the cable/cord just before it enters the tt if we see them encroaching those areas.

If you are hooked up to a sewer, keep your gray valves closed until you need to dump as well as your black. Ants can come up from the sewer. Don't ask me how I figured that out.

I too spray around everything that touches the ground and then comes into my trailer.

I sprinkle ant granules around all the tires, jacks and cords coming out of our 5th wheel every time we set up. I found out years ago to not let ants get nested in your tt cause they are a pain to evict.

We're in south Texas for the summer-lots of fire ants and sugar ants. We had sugar ants come in for a visit-found a product named Terro-you spread a small amount on a piece of cardboard and lay on counter where the ants are--in 2 days all gone. Haven't seen any in 2 months. It also comes in a spray for outdoor use.

I have heard that SEVEN DUST does pretty great for this as well... Sprinkle around the tires and jacks that touch the ground...

We always run into the real little sand ants when we visit LAKEWOOD at Myrtle Beach. After we leave there we usually go to the Smoky Mtn near Gatlinburg. No telling how many ants we have transferred from SC to TN over the years... Momabear gets her beach camping and i get my mtn streams camping...

I use to use that same stuff here in South Carolina, but have been unable to find it for about the last 5 years. Where did you get it?

guess it has changed some since I used it. Mine came in a tube like toothpaste. You squeezed a dab on a piece of cardboard and in a few days, no more ants! I am sure this works just as well.

KRACKEER - I did find this which looks like a tube.

Photo from Google images

Do me a favor and do a search on GOOGLE for "TERRO ANT KILLER" and be sure to include the quotes. When it loads up select IMAGES from the left side and this will list many pages of TERRO ANT KILLER products photos for you to view. Select the one you like and click on that photo for the web link....

I think this may be called "TERRO ANT KILLER ii" what ever that means...

I got several pages of photos to view of the TERRO Ant Killer products...

Hope this is what you are looking for...

Thanks guys... I will check out Walmart / Amazon. I had heard it was available at Home Depot but I couldn't find it at any of the big box stores.

Terro has been around for a long time. It comes in the bottle that you put a drop on cardboard, and they also have liquid filled baits.
